Vor’Rakulith

These creatures were bread in a forgotten Lab with the sole purpose to earn credits and favors with the banu. After learning that Banu have such a diverse pallet, explores set out throughout the verse to acquire DNA to create the perfect delicacy. They sourced specimens from as far as Magnus with reports of some from Khabari, and even wild claims from Volt and Vermilion.

It wasn’t until one fateful evening when bandits attacked the laboratory. Although security forces were able to defend and halt their advance, significant damage was done to the facility. Several of the creatures escaped, with the males cutting down all in their path. Survivors of both security, civilian, and bandit alive fled the asteroid based lab with several creatures stowing away on board. Today, these creatures are an invasive species throughout the verse.

But what is a Vor’Rakulith?

Vor’Rakulith

🔹 Name Breakdown:

• Vor – evoking “voracious” or “devourer,” emphasizing its carnivorous nature.

• Rak – a harsh, stone-like syllable suggesting “rock” or “fracture.”

• Ulith – implies, intelligent, and otherworldly life.

🔹 Title or Classification by race/ location:

• “Vor’Rakulith, the Stone Maw” - Vanduul,humans in pyro

• “Tunnel-Wraiths of Vor’Rakulith” - Banu

• “Burrowbeast of the Molten Deep” - Humans, Banu in Stanton, pyro, Terra

These creatures are carnivorous, mainly feasting on wildlife and often hunt Valakkar. They are also known to attack humans and other creatures of intelligence if they felt threatened.

Now an invasive nuisance species they are still highly sought after by hunters and tradesmen. Someone wishing to collect the bounty of credits for one of these creatures first must use a scanning tool to locate a suitable burrow.

Then they must use a multi tool with a mining head to break open the burrow door. If no males are inside, the eggs and females must be extracted with a tractor beam. Once they are dispatched a cutting torch is required to slice and extract the meat and other items such as additional eggs and milk sack. It's milk a bioluminescent green with a purple cloud hung in the center (Not featured) sought after for its inebriating effects.

However, if a male is inside, the male will have to be gunned down quickly or risk, death or injury to the hunter.

Females typically smaller, grow to have vibrant luminescent coloring to attract larger males. A larger male means better protection, and since they create the dens a larger den. Hunters who stumble across a large den entrance, require a better mining skill, but the larger dens will yield more females and more eggs.

The alpha males are 2 to 3 times larger than a human with an average male being similar to or smaller than a human. They have a harder body, and lack the sought after eggs and milk sack however, they do have a large try pincer claw they used to attack and to dig with. The claw is usually a vibrant color and yields delicious meat.

I imagine these could be scattered throughout the verse primarily in caves. Frequently stalking valakar. players would have to use a wide assortment of ingame mechanics if they want to reap the bounties.
