The newly flyable Freelancer is perfectly sedate with a top speed of 175 m/s in SCM... until you hit afterburners. It then becomes a fire breathing speed demon capable of reaching a top speed of 520 m/s with agility you might expect from an M50. Like the Gamma in 2.0 it has also has nearly limitless boost fuel reserves meaning you are free to hold down that afterburner button as long as you like, but you'd better hold on! With afterburners engages this beast is slipperier than an eel and far, far deadlier (to the pilot that is). However, if you can keep her on the track you will get around it in phenomenal time considering the 'lancer is supposed the spaceship equivalent of a semi-tractor trailer.

I'm betting it isn't supposed to fly like this, but until this is corrected by CIG, the Freelancer is the new surprise contender for the Murry Cup! :P
