Here we see the closest competition to the Ares Ion in game. A Sentinel with one Attrition 5. Granted, this is clearly not a fair comparison. The cripped Sentinel is better than the Ion in every measurable way, while having 200 more dps. I highly recommend Crippled Sentinel over the Ion. It even has a bed. I'm not sure if the idea was to make a "Size Seven" weapon with less dps than a Size 5. This feels like a mistake.
