【北京Barcitizen】Barcitizen in Beijing!

On the first day of CitizenCon, I organized a Barcitizen in Beijing, and everyone had a great time!

Here is our group photo. I'm the one in the white shirt right in the middle of the front row, but it was 2:00 AM local time when we took the photo, so some friends had already left the venue.

In early July this year, I finished my work at Shenzhen BC and returned to Beijing. I got together with a few friends who also participated in the Shenzhen BC work for a meal and a chat. Suddenly, the idea of hosting a Barcitizen in Beijing on CitizenCon day came to mind. I thought it would be super cool for a group of players to watch CitizenCon offline together on that day!

In the end, over 50 players signed up, and more than 40 players ultimately came to the event venue to participate. We booked an entire bar in a five-star hotel. Unfortunately, the lighting inside the bar wasn't very good. After the first day of CitizenCon activities ended, we took a group photo in the hotel lobby (it was 2:00 AM local time, too late, and some friends had left early).

This time was super fun. Organizing an event is indeed challenging but also very rewarding. Everyone watching CitizenCon together was more interesting than watching a movie in a cinema. The moment when Squadron 42 entered the battlefield, our cheers could be heard throughout the hotel lobby. The hotel's banquet department head was so inspired by our enthusiasm that he chatted with us for a long time about Star Citizen. We learned that he is also an avid online game fan who has established large organizations in many online games. He marveled at the development of gaming and the future trends of the industry. He was particularly curious about what kind of game Star Citizen is, that it would inspire a group of players to passionately organize a viewing party for a game show in the capital (where venue rental costs are high), and even keep going from 2:00 PM local time until 2:00 AM.

In the end, we express our gratitude to CIG for their support and we've seen the actions CIG has taken for Star Citizen and Squadron 42. We are very happy and wish CIG all the best!

Best regards,
