Imagine getting knocked or bumped and your arm accidentally sweeps a panel.

The sheer amount of buttons on the Apollo and Space Shuttle craft is staggering. Imagine having to know what every single one of those buttons does, and praying that it would work in the event of problems with condensation or other debris getting behind the panel. Hell, it was stuff like this that prompted the creation of the space pen, because a little broken graphite tip of a pencil in the wrong place could kill everyone.<br /> Kind of reminds me of that scene from Apollo 13 when Kevin Bacon's character puts that note on the LM Jettison button, just to keep himself from accidentally spacing them all.
