Players:

For this event, I suggest a minimum of 3 players. Bring A LOT of ammo, and do not forget your med guns. Have your party leader accept each mission and share with everyone else. If two people accept a mission, they will get different locations, so don't do that (this applies to all phases except phase 3 as explained below).

///////////////////////

Ships:

I found the Redeemer, Corsair and Ares Ion/Inferno to be the best choices for this event. If group is big enough, bringing a C8R or Cutlass Red is a nice addition to heal injured players. Upgrade your Quantum Drive, you will be travelling through all of Stanton. Get good shields and guns, you will be fighting Hammerheads and turrets.

///////////////////////

Time:

About 6 hours or so, give or take.

///////////////////////

Description of the event:

Consists of 5 phases, each phase has a number of stages.

///////////////////////

Phases:

PHASE 1

-5 stages. FPS battles.

-Bunkers. Go to bunker, destroy hostile turrets, eliminate hostile XT npcs.

-Find the one engineer in civilian clothes, kill him and loot his chest/legs for a key, take key to server room.

-One person monitors the server room, their job consists of watching for servers heating up.

-The other players need to run around the bunker looking at screens for a blue error pop up, which has a server number (S-123) and code (1234) they need to shout out in party chat, which the server room player can then input to cool down that server and continue the upload.

///////////////////////

PHASE 2

-3 stages. Space battles.

-Bounties and collection of a key to drop off.

-Go to location, kill the ships (think MRT/HRT level bounty), get out of your ship into EVA, go to the marker for the key, grab key, deliver key to a certain drop off location

-Stage 3 bounty has a Hammerhead, be careful.

///////////////////////

PHASE 3

-5 stages. Space battles.

-Incursions. Big space battle vs 4 hammerheads and about 20 other ships.

-Seems to be server wide, is not shareable (so every party member needs to accept the mission on their own).

-Go to location, kill all the ships. If server very populated and many others outside yoru group competing to complete this phase, don't worry, just kill at least 1 ship and you will get stage completion.

///////////////////////

PHASE 4 PART ONE

-3 stages. Space battles.

-Commlink.

-Go to commlink, kill 3 ships. Get out of your ship into EVA and enter the commlink, shoot the mines laid all over to clear a path to the computer. Start the commlink recovery (no need for tigerclaws, no need for monitoring the screen). Head back to your ship.

-Hostile ships will spawn in waves, prioritize killing the Vanguard ships, as they disrupt your commlink recovery, then kill rest of ships.

PHASE 4 PART TWO

-1 stage. FPS battle.

-Security Post Kareah.

-Go to SPK, stop their hacking device in central computer room; after, you will see a marker to a tigerclaw closeby, grab it and enter it in the central computer. This will start an upload.

-Waves and waves of angry XT npcs will attack you. Have at least one party member watching the upload screen (there will be at least 1 interruption you need to clear on screen).

-The rest of the party members run around and kill.

-Very very fun, very very deadly. Do your best to survive.

-At the end of upload, click RESET. Leave.

///////////////////////

PHASE 5

-1 stage. FPS and package delivery.

-3 packages need to be picked up and delivered to a location.

-You go to a wreck site with some XT npcs. Kill the npcs, pick up the 3 packages, take them to drop off location.

Event complete.

Hope this guide helps you.

FAQ:

Do I NEED to kill the phase 1 engineer and do I get a crimestat?

You can bring your own tigerclaws if you are a pacifist. You can knock them down and still loot them. If you are like me and don't mind killing him, no you will not get a crimestat.

How can I tell whether I completed the phase?

For phase 1, there is a bug where your history shows as 1/5 completed numerous times. Check your completed missions in history, and see their payout. If you have 5 different payout amounts for 5 of the phase 1 completed missions, you are good. If you are online and are not getting any new phase 1 mission alerts while seeing the rest of the server get them, means you are good. If phase 2 starts and you get an alert of a mission for phase 2, you are good.

As a commenter mentioned, this bug seems to happen with all phases. So as long as you've done your stages and you are not receiving further mission pop ups, you should be fine for the following phase.

Will continue to monitor and will edit the guide just in case there are any differences between the phase order and any bugs that happen in LIVE, but ithe guide should be accurate. Good luck.

In phase 4 part 1 (commlink) the mission is not completing, what can I do?

Commenter called Guava the Hut said the following advice: "Something I noticed on my 11th run of 3\3 of phase 4 part 1: If you die during the "neutralize all remaining XenoThreat shipd around Comm Array..." part of the mission, but the mission remains active - you can travel back, wipe out the remaining ships AND will most likely need to reconnect the comm array in order to complete the mission. It was driving me crazy waiting for the mission to complete, but after I finally decided to take another trip into the comm array interior I noticed it had been disconnected once more."

EDIT: From reading comments it seems what I originally wrote as "phase 4" and "phase 5" (commlink and Security Post Kareah) are being packaged as a single phase, to avoid confusion I've edited the guide to reflect this. As such, there are now 5 phases total, and phase 4 consists of two parts, first the commlink and then Kareah.

EDIT 2: In phase 4 part 2 (Security Post Kareah), be aware that the first step (ie disconnect/abort the xeno hacking device) is TIMED. That means you should rush in, abort their hack device (central computer room) and then continue with mission. Also, if someone else is already doing their mission there and you cannot access the main computer, just abort the hack device and stay there until the mission completes for them, as it will result in completion for you as well.

EDIT 3: As confirmed by the latest ISC from today ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lx1D3UeEdQ0 ), Overdrive Event (ie this guide) is a PRELUDE to the old Xenothreat event from a few years back (for more info, see the following links: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/18510-XenoThreat-For-New-Players#fc27e4a7 as well as https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/18255-XenoThreat-Returns ). Once we get more info, I will add it to this guide, at the moment however, it seems the Overdrive event will be complete with these 5 phases, and the following "phases" are relevant to the separate Xenothreat event mentioned in those links above. Whether we get the F7A upgrade with completion of Overdrive, or we still need to do the following Xenothreat event to get it, remains to be seen, but I will do my best to update this guide as new info comes along.

EDIT 4: From latest comms from devs, as it stands as long as you complete all Overdrive phases (ie this event and everything written in this guide) you will receive the rewards in May when 3.23 comes out, after the defeat of Xenothreat. So no, it does not seem like you need to do anything else once this event is completed to receive the rewards, just have to wait and optionally join the fight vs Xenothreat. If this info changes I will update the guide. Thanks for the support and glad this helped some of you.
