SUBJECT: Reconstructed Captains Logs — UEEES Vara

DATE: 11 October 2955

DOCUMENT ID: UEE-ASI/INV/2557-10-27-VRA

CLASSIFICATION: TOP SECRET / HIGH COMMAND EYES ONLY

I. OVERVIEW

The exploration vessel UEEES Vara lost while orbiting Hades II on 27 October 2557 during early survey operations. All thirty-eight crew were presumed deceased a year later. No hull fragments, escape pods, or transponders have been recovered. The following transcript reconstructs the Vara’s final logs and last communications with the exploration vessel UEEES Discovery, compiled from partially corrupted data from recently recovered Rhetor Relay Satellite RS-225.

II. EXCERPT — CAPT. TISIPHONE HEPTANE MISSION LOG (RECONSTRUCTED)

20 OCT 2557 // 1800 SET

Arrival at Hades System confirmed. Crew optimistic; alien ruins detected beneath the crust. Dr. Hall calls it 'the find of the century.'

21 OCT 2557 // 0900 SET

Stabilized orbit. Planetary EM pulses detected—structured, harmonic. Possible communication. Discovery en route per command.

22 OCT 2557 // 2200 SET

Minor system fluctuations syncing with surface pulses. Lighting anomalies. Crew uneasy. Hall joked, 'Maybe the planet’s saying hello.'

23 OCT 2557 // 0840 SET

Whispers in pulse analysis. Crew report movement in ruins; sensors show none.

24 OCT 2557 // 2230 SET (PERSONAL)

Crew accounted for, yet… wrong. Familiar faces, unfamiliar eyes. The hum echoes when they speak.

25 OCT 2557 // 0600 SET

Lt. Lordred missing—airlock opened, no EVA record. Ship self-adjusted course. The hum now 'breathes.' Distress signal sent.

24 OCT 2557 // 0942 SET

‘It hears me think. When I blink, it blinks back. The hum says my name—Tisiphone. If I stop listening, it gets angry. It keeps time now.’

25 OCT 2557 // 1333 SET (FINAL)

Last audio: ‘Do not answer them. It’s not us.’ Multiple voices detected from empty decks. Signal collapse at 1333:48. Vara lost.

I. RECOVERED COMMUNICATION — UEEES DISCOVERY

27 OCT 2557 // 1300 SET

DISCOVERY: “Vara, this is Discovery, within range. Respond.”

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: “Welcome, Discovery. Come below. The captain will guide you.”

DISCOVERY: “Captain Heptane, confirm ID.”

HEPTANE (distorted): “TURN BACK, DAMN IT! IT’S NOT US! THEY’RE INSIDE THE SHIP!”

UNIDENTIFIED (Heptane’s voice): “You’re already mine.” [Transmission ends. Pulse resumes.]

II. POST-INCIDENT ANALYSIS

Subsequent audio reconstruction of terminal logs produced destabilizing interference across primary Advocacy systems. Playback at standard auditory levels resulted in acute psychological distress and mass hysteria among review personnel. Source of contagion unknown. All further analysis is to be conducted under restricted sensory protocols.

III.EMERGENCY DIRECTIVE

Hades II: Non-Physical Cognitive Contagion.

Security Level: MAXIMUM

Effective immediately, Quarantine Containment Protocol 2319-C initiated. All exploration operations/travel within the Hades System is suspended. Any detection of harmonic pulse activity is to be met with full-spectrum signal jamming
