This badge shows that the attendee is part of a vendor or exhibitor's staff. Notice the security chip for secure event access. The crowning jewel of the card is the interactive display of the mobiBadge from MicroTech.
A general attendee's badge is designated by this blue color. On the back of the card, an interactive video of the Syulen plays with a link to purchase options.

I created this design as if I were creating an actual event in the 'Verse. I started with the idea that an event badge can be used for both access and for introductions. This high-tech badge, developed by MicroTech, does both, while also serving targeted product information.

First, the attendee’s name is presented in a large font (48 pt) so it can be seen across a room. The attendee’s company and location are slightly smaller to invite others to come a little closer to read them. The front is minimalistic – both to mimic MicroTech’s style as well as to avoid distracting from the name. The embedded security chip would be scannable by a mobiGlass. Perfect for adding a new friend to your contact list!

Then, notice the color coded IAE and badge logo. These can easily differentiate between attendees, exhibitors, staff, security, and more. This is helpful for visitors to know who to go to for help as well as allow security officers to quickly identify unauthorized visitors with just a glance. A security chip is embedded into the card and will seamlessly grant event access as authorized.

While the front of the badge will be prominently displayed for others, the back of the badge is for the wearer. But instead of trying to cram the entire IAE schedule, extra-curricular events, and ads onto a tiny card, I asked, “What if the badge could display the information that you need, when you need it?”

Introducing the attendee’s (and the event marketer’s) dream: the MicroTech mobiBadge 1.0. This interactive badge can scroll through announcements, provide the event schedule, a floor map, and more. The event staff can offer a sponsorships for this as well. Instead of a static Gatac logo on the map, a video of the Syulen with warbond offers could be delivered directly to the user. Product information could be pushed directly to your badge when you step on board a ship on the show floor. You could rent with a single button or purchase with a click. All while keeping track of what exhibits you spent the most time on for future reference. And if you spend too much time on the show floor, it can remind you that the Happy Hour mixer at Wally's is starting in a few minutes.
