Iridium is one of the oldest companies in "Das Kartell", gaining momentum and influence early on in its operations in the Chronos system. The company benefited greatly in those early years under the auspices of the Cartel from the deals Commander Corran Dekkard struck with Project Archangel - the UEE's attempt to build a planet from the ground up. A project that attracted many businessmen, both upstanding and shady.

Unfortunately, the operation suffered from constant attacks by the Vanduul, who repeatedly caused unrest in the neighboring star systems and disrupted Iridium's trade routes. Frequent changes in management also led to internal difficulties. As the corruption surrounding Project Archangel has now been uncovered and measures have been taken to counteract it, the Chronos system is no longer a place where good business can be done.

Due to these major uncertainties and risks, the new management team set out to find a new home for the company. A home not only for the company and its employees, but also a haven of peace for the soul. A new home should be found that is characterized by peaceful cooperation between peoples. A path to a completely new place where trade can flourish undisturbed. The current management of the Iridium merchant fleet therefore feels drawn towards the Banu territories and sees a lucrative future for new trade relations between the peoples in their vicinity.
