This space game needs a rocket. The Hull X was built to assist larger Hulls by quickly ferrying cargo between orbital stations and nearby planets. Unlike other Hulls, this ship uses rapid-loading cargo cranes similar to the Argo RAFT. Fitting between Hulls B and C, the X holds 1024 SCU making it the largest Hull that can land fully loaded. The pilot seat is vertical in flight, but can rotate to land the contracted ship inside a large horizontal hangar.
Typically operated near populated areas, it is lightly armed, armored, and shielded even for a Hull. It has a relatively small quantum tank; only able to traverse a system or two. Entry through the ship is either through the external elevator tower or the docking collar on the other side. The ship has an internal elevator and three floors: Engineering, Habitation, and a Bridge.
This ship is much more "kit bashed" than my prior models, using mostly ingame MISC ship geometry. I was not sure how well this concept would be received, with cargo ships being a packed market. I was also more interested in learning smoke/fire effects in Blender. It's still a work in progress so I welcome feedback. I may do a full brochure.
The video uses audio from the Apollo 11 launch and Delta V rocket. Additionally thanks to the Starfab authors, who made the ship possible.
