Pride Month 2954

Here is my entry for the contest, a sculpture of the C1 cruising out of Crusader between (my interpretation of) Finley and Francis.

Process pictures for a better sense of scale.

Here it is, Pride month, and although it is 2954 and stigma about people's private lives and preferences is for the most part long gone, celebrations still go on, and the mega corporations make sure that the tradition of posturing and recoloring their logos for a month lives on too!

They all have their own slogans, good or (very) bad:

Despite the religious roots of the company's former entity when it was still known as Seraphim Systems, Crusader has perhaps surprisingly been one of the few to actually advocate year-long for all sorts of civil rights causes, particularly through August Dunlow's efforts and continued donations to multiple charities.

It has not always been easy to be upfront about the progressive aspirations of the company with some shareholders from the old days still reluctant to fly rainbow colors high, and yet Crusader always managed to finesse the most hard headed, even through things as "subtle" as the choice of their mascots Francis and Finley.

This realisation shows the newest and already widely successful C1 line taking off from Crusader, with the two stormwals happily flying along.

I hope people like it, it has been fun and a challenge to make, I needed something to remond me that I am not a sculptor, as well as whip out the airbrush, and that was this project.

I am pretty happy with it, although the stormwals are my interpretation and look somewhere between the plushies and the "real" ones, but in fact, they just look precisely like what I could manage to make :D

Funny enough, the C1 may have been the real chalenge here and I only made it today, just in time.

For those who wonder about technicals, the stormwals are Das clay (aluminum core for weight) the planet is polystyrene ball from the carfts store, the jet exhaust effect id hot glue on wires, the C1 is made out of bits of styrene and other plastics, a bit of wood, the deep empty space are just my bed sheets, and I didn't make any stars, so if you see some, it's probably just dandruff...
