[TNN Exclusive: Is ArcCorp Falling Behind?]

By Jalen Rho, Terran News Network (TNN)

AREA18, ArcCorp – Once the beating heart of corporate expansion in Stanton, ArcCorp was once hailed as the pinnacle of industrialized civilization. But with recent developments across the system—including Lorville’s skyline overhaul, Orison’s continued expansions, and the Pyro system opening up for brave (or foolish) explorers—one can’t help but notice that ArcCorp remains... exactly the same.

Despite its status as a major corporate hub, ArcCorp lacks key infrastructure and attractions found elsewhere in Stanton. Unlike Crusader’s thriving shipbuilding facilities, MicroTech’s research centers, or Hurston’s massive factories, ArcCorp has no active distribution centers on its surface or its moons, Lyria and Wala. There are no race tracks, no orbital defense platforms, and no additional space stations beyond Baijini Point. Even in terms of exploration, it’s sorely lacking—while other planets have mysterious crashed Reclaimers, derelict Javelins, or natural wonders like rivers and forests, ArcCorp remains a seemingly endless stretch of concrete and neon.

To understand the growing frustration of ArcCorp’s residents, we at TNN reached out to locals and organizations who are voicing concerns about the planet’s stagnation. Here’s what they had to say.

"Business is stagnating! We need fresh incentives!"ArcCorp Business Owners Association (ACBOA)

Derrik Malven, a spokesperson for the ArcCorp Business Owners Association, paints a grim picture. "We’re seeing fewer visitors choosing ArcCorp as their hub. New Babbage has its sleek, modern appeal. Orison has floating luxury. Even grimy old Lorville got a facelift! But here? Same landing pads, same corridors, same neon signs that flicker because no one's bothered to fix them in years. We need tax incentives, new attractions, something! Even a proper trade hub with functional logistics centers would help."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"We are the backbone of ArcCorp, and we’ve been forgotten."ArcCorp Workers' Union

Sara Khuros, a representative of the ArcCorp Workers’ Union, is even more direct. "You ever been stuck on an Area18 tram for twenty minutes because of a ‘routing failure’? You ever had your hab door glitch out and refuse to open? That’s every day for us! Meanwhile, Hurston Dynamics puts out a PR video about their new 'revolutionized' urban spaces. Meanwhile, Crusader Industries adds new floating platforms. We’re still working under the same busted neon lights from five years ago!

Even worse, we don’t even have proper infrastructure projects happening here. Other planets are getting new surface-level POIs, natural biomes, and player-driven initiatives like homesteads and mining outposts. Meanwhile, our ‘biggest update’ was a new shop kiosk. We demand reinvestment in infrastructure, transit, and our quality of life. And if that doesn’t happen? Well, I wouldn’t be surprised if our workers started taking their skills elsewhere."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"ArcCorp is a historical landmark! Let’s treat it like one!"ArcCorp Historical Preservation Society (AHPS)

Not everyone sees change as the answer. Chairman Dario Pelton of the ArcCorp Historical Preservation Society believes ArcCorp should be restored, not overhauled. "We are the embodiment of humanity’s industrial ambition. We don’t need sleek white towers like New Babbage; we need investment in what makes us unique. Restore the megabuildings, bring back some of the old pre-MesoTech holo-ads, turn Area18 into a properly maintained living city again, not just a trade hub people pass through. We don’t need new—we need to honor what we already have!"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"We need more than just blinking lights and concrete. ArcCorp is becoming a relic."Megabuilding Tenants' Association

Alicia Wren, head of the Megabuilding Tenants’ Association, isn’t convinced that any meaningful change is coming. "Every time someone talks about ‘improvements,’ all we get are some new shop signs and maybe a different brand of protein cubes in the vending machines. But where’s the actual change? We don’t need another neon ad for TigerClaw Energy Drink—we need real investment in the people who live here!

ArcCorp once promised player-owned habitation, expansions into the lower city, and special content zones for deeper urban exploration. But where is it? It’s been years, and all we’ve gotten is more neon and lag spikes. More green spaces, new hab units that don’t feel like they were built a hundred years ago, and maybe even—dare I say it—actual windows in some of our apartments? Is that too much to ask?"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Why should tourists come to ArcCorp when everywhere else is more exciting?"ArcCorp Tourism Board

Finally, we spoke with Cam Leto, an exhausted marketing executive from the ArcCorp Tourism Board. "Look, I’m running out of ways to make ArcCorp sound exciting. We got trade, we got neon, we got, uh... a tram? Every other major location in Stanton is evolving, and we’re still pushing the same ‘Cyberpunk Aesthetic’ that was trendy years ago.

We don’t have any race tracks, no surface POIs, no scenic landmarks, and no orbital attractions. Meanwhile, Orison has sunset tours, MicroTech has picturesque snow-capped mountains, and Hurston has dangerous underground bunkers. ArcCorp? We got more holograms. Give us something fresh—a mega-mall, an official racing track, hell, even a VR entertainment district! Just something! Otherwise, we’re just a landing zone people use when their ship needs refueling."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Final Thoughts: Will ArcCorp’s Corporate Elite Listen?

It’s clear that the people of ArcCorp—whether workers, residents, or business owners—are desperate for attention. But will ArcCorp’s governing corporate body invest in its planet? Or will it continue to let its industrial megacity become a relic of the past while the rest of Stanton moves forward?

One thing’s for sure: ArcCorp may be covered in concrete and steel, but the frustration of its people is growing louder.

TNN will continue to follow this story as it develops.
