Most of the hardware was built from scratch, by hand using MDF, sheet styrene and a number of other materials, excepting any retail items such as sticks, etc.
Simpit Integrated Displays 3 Displays on the main dash 1 Heads Down main display 2 MFD displays coupled with Thrustmaster MFD Cougar controls
All integrated displays can make use of or be the target of projected scenes with plugins/custom interface elements, other players points of view, or to manage and run other programs. MFDs can control other programs without the need to Alt-tab between windows via hotkeys. Custom configurable interface elements on a per game basis can be run on each display, and they can toggle between different display modes and different players points of view.
Holographic Display / Targeting Computer Uses a 'peppers ghost' type hologram to display a transparent overlay in real time of a gunner or another players point of view. This does not block the main display thanks to the hologram being transparent. This can be either done locally, or with extreme low latency streaming. It can also act as a 4th auxilary monitor. It is on an articulated piston arm, allowing it to be moved to anywhere needed.
Integrated Simpit controls All buttons/switches/dials etc. are functional, able to send USB joystick input to the PC which can be bound in games. All panels attach magnetically and can be replaced for different styles, or a change in the location of the controls.
Articulated Accessories Keyboard, mouse, and G13 gamepad trays allow what conventional controls you need to be moved into reach to convenient locations, or stowed away quickly.
Conventional Hardware (Current Configuration)
Right Stick - Virpil Constellation Alpha on WarBrd Base Left Stick - Virpil Constellation Delta with Omnidirectional Throttle mod on CM3 base (A modification to the mounting of the left stick, using a custom angled adapter for the Virpil/Warthog style threads. This aligns the twist axis to an up/down direction to match the corresponding strafe) MFG Crosswind pedals
Wireless TrackIR sensor, attached to a wireless headset for full freedom.
A standard desktop machine can be connected to the chasis, and due to a custom modular connection, can be powered on via power buttons on the simpit, rather than the PC. All components can be removed without soldering/desoldering.
Chasis cabinet containing the PC hardware, and the simpit hardware is vented by mesh panels and 4 200mm fans.
