Mission Statement

Icarus Interstellar Incorporated is a corporate-structured community dedicated to Chris Roberts’ Star Citizen. We provide a supportive environment for all playstyles, ranging from competitive and casual play to immersive roleplay, encompassing primarily lawful themes.

Our organization is built on a foundation of loyalty, mutual respect, and camaraderie. We aim to explore the universe together while maintaining a fun, engaging experience for every member.

Community Standards

We embrace diversity across all cultures, ages, and backgrounds. To ensure a mature and drama-free atmosphere, members are expected to interact with kindness and maintain a family-friendly environment that is inclusive to all.

Operational Conduct

Members must engage with Star Citizen as intended by the developers, prioritizing teamwork and fair play. Cheating or exploiting the game is strictly prohibited. When interacting with external organizations, all members and affiliates should serve as respectful ambassadors of our values.

Roleplay Etiquette

We offer dedicated roleplay sessions and lore-driven events to enhance immersion. While we encourage staying in character, all roleplay-related conflicts must remain strictly in-game and should never affect out-of-character relationships or personal conduct.

Icarus Interstellar Incorporated has a group of planners, visionaries, and adventurers with a passion to build a thriving corporation-based organization with enough members to take on any mission and to fly the largest of capital ships. Our dream is to become a very successful organization, while maintaining a friendly, drama-free environment.

Our Core Goals

Community & Roleplay:

• Maintain a friendly, drama-free atmosphere while striving to become a very successful organization.

• Expand our membership to ensure we can take on any mission.

• Create elaborate roleplay adventures for our members who enjoy roleplay.

• Join multi-organization, CIG sponsored, and server events.

• Assist our members with training and how-to guides to help them play.

Operations & Fleet:

• Be able to fully crew and operate capital ships, including the Idris frigate or Javelin destroyer, with assigned roles.

• Create a task force of various ships that require teamwork to operate.

• Ensure a steady supply of credits to fully fund all our adventures.

Game Proficiency & Presence:

• Explore and become proficient with all game content and mission types.

• Establish and defend bases on various planets against enemies.

All of our members share the anticipation of what Star Citizen will become, and maybe more importantly, what we will become. We are looking for new members to help us reach for our dreams and have the time of our lives!

Playstyles and Roleplay

Icarus Interstellar Incorporated is a hybrid organization focused on experiencing everything Star Citizen offers through both regular gameplay and dedicated roleplay (RP).

Our Playstyles

• Regular Play: This is our primary mode that a majority of our players enjoy. Members collaborate on missions, exploration, and profit-making without required RP.

• Dedicated Roleplay: We support immersive storylines and ship crews during specific times. Members can join anytime and experiment with various roles, from crew to captain.

New to RP?: We help interested members get started. Most players already “roleplay” naturally through the game’s immersive mechanics; our veterans are available to guide you.

RP Roadmap & Goals

• 2024/2025 Retrospective: We successfully trialed a mysterious ship-crew adventure, while identifying a need for better immersion than Discord allows.
• Future Vision: Expanding the crew to a capital ship for larger-scale adventures by 2026/2027. Using in-game localized chat for RP.
• 2026/2027 Plans: Launching a new RP crew on a capital ship (Carrack, 890 JUMP, or Polaris). We are testing in-game vs. Discord communication for maximum immersion.

Our organization has started to dream, plan, and think about all of the awesome opportunities awaiting us.

For many of us, this is the game that we have always thought about and wondered if it was possible. From our earliest memories of space adventure TV shows and movies to daydreaming as an adult, we have dreamed. And we still dare to dream.

Icarus Interstellar Incorporated Member Expectations

Preface:
A successful organization requires clear standards to ensure smooth operations and maintain a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for all members. The following guidelines represent the basic expectations for membership of Icarus Interstellar Incorporated. All members are expected to apply common sense and conduct themselves in a manner that upholds the organization’s principles at all times.

Conduct of Behavior Guidelines

General Guidelines

Adherence to Game Terms of Service (ToS): Members must never engage in actions contrary to the CIG Terms of Service that could result in warnings, suspensions, or bans from Star Citizen. All in-game activities, including illegal ones, must be conducted within the ToS and allowed game mechanics. Members must also avoid any activities that could negatively affect the reputation of Icarus Interstellar Incorporated.

Respect and Professionalism: Members are expected to behave respectfully toward fellow members and individuals from other organizations. Harassment of any type (verbal, text, griefing, etc.), excessive drama, or sexually explicit/obscene language is strictly prohibited.

Leadership and Community: Members are expected to foster a comfortable and friendly environment and follow the guidance of the Leaders and Officers.

Roleplay Specific Guidelines:

Consideration for Roleplayers: Roleplay is optional, but non-roleplaying members must be considerate of those participating in dedicated roleplay sessions, which may occur during separate playtimes. All members participating in roleplay should be respectful and patient, recognizing varying levels of roleplay preference and experience within the organization.

Appropriate Roleplay Content: Lore-appropriate behavior, prejudices, and conflicts are acceptable within the confines of roleplay. Mature topics are only acceptable within roleplay and should be handled with discretion. Erotic Roleplay (ERP) is strictly prohibited; however, suggesting what might be happening with characters is acceptable (fade to black).

Membership Policy

Everyone is welcome at Icarus Interstellar Incorporated. To be successful, we maintain a membership policy that balances flexibility for all commitment levels with loyalty, participation, and security.

Recruit (new member) Expectations:

The Recruit role is a trial period for mutual evaluation. We seek active players who join org nights at least once a month and do not simply disappear after joining.

• Recruits must join at least two org nights within 30 days for promotion eligibility for full membership.

• Inactive recruits must update a Director or face removal for security reasons.

Spectrum Org Requirements:

• All members must set Icarus Interstellar as their main org on the RSI Spectrum page.

• Changing status to “Affiliate” (except for Ambassadors) results in removal.

Affiliates

• Currently, Icarus Interstellar Incorporated is NOT accepting affiliate members, as our members are expected to commit to our organization as their main organization. The only exception to this is the Ambassador role, which is not a member, but serves as a link to another org.

Conflict of Interest and Member Behavior

• Members of Icarus Interstellar Incorporated may not hold an officer position, significant rank, or any position requiring a time commitment with any other organization.

• Members of Icarus Interstellar Incorporated may not be responsible for any action that is not in the best interest of this organization and its reputation. This includes cheating, griefing, ganking, harassment, or any action causing others harm.

• Members of Icarus Interstellar Incorporated, unless there is a valid reason, should not participate in other organization’s events during an our scheduled organization nights.

• Members of Icarus Interstellar Incorporated may not introduce or participate in any recruitment activities for another organization.

• Members of Icarus Interstellar Incorporated may not be a member of or associated with a pirate organization or any organization that participates in griefing, ganking, murderhobo activities or unprovoked attacks on other players.

Member Participation / Activity Level

We value activity but prioritize real life. While events aren’t mandatory, we need to understand member availability to grow effectively.

Participation Guidelines and Notes

• Weekly official play times are scheduled based on US time zones.

• Additional times may be scheduled depending on member’s desires and available time to play. More regularly scheduled official play times will be added as the organization’s membership increases.

• Members should check Discord several times a week for news and coordination.

• Extended breaks are permitted for members in good standing who remain loyal to the org.

Recruitment

• We prioritize quality over quantity, avoiding spam and focusing on interested players who are a good fit for our culture.

Age / Maturity Requirement

• Minimum age is 18 (preferred 21+). We prioritize maturity and teamwork over age alone.

Membership Requirements to Join

New members should be able to:

• Agree with our principles and be able to follow our bylaws (just like any other group)
• Meet the age requirement listed above (easier to keep a maturity level standard)
• Be available for at least some of our planned events (isn’t that why we are here?)
• Have an appropriate standard of written and spoken English (just makes it easier)
• Be friendly, courteous, and respectful of others (this is just a given for our atmosphere)
• Not be prone to using overly obscene language in a continuous manner (keep it within reason)
• Not be prone to rage or anger (we want a friendly and welcoming atmosphere)
• Be dependable (if you say you will do something or attend an event, be able to follow through)

Dependability

Please use the RSVP function. Casual nights are flexible, but mission nights require dependable attendance for teams and roles.

Being able to depend on fellow members is very important and should not be taken lightly. Planned events or missions may rely on a certain number of players or specific players to be logged in on time and not leaving early.

If indicating you will be attending an event, members should avoid not showing up or being late, unless it is a real life urgent matter, which everyone understands.

If the event has a specific length of time, members should avoid leaving early.

A tentative selection for the RSVP indicates you are unsure of attending.

Members that can only attend part of a scheduled event should communicate that ahead of time so arrangements can be made.

Multi-organization Policy

Affiliation with other orgs is allowed if no conflict of interest exists. Members are responsible for ensuring their other orgs align with our principles.

Icarus Interstellar Incorporated General Policies

Player-Versus-Player (PvP) – General Considerations:

• PvP is inherent to Star Citizen. Icarus Interstellar Incorporated (III) participates in PvE and PvP, leveraging PvP-inclined members to protect and train others. Basic defensive skills are recommended for all.

Player-Versus-Player (PvP) – Security Section:

• The Security Section provides top-tier defense, participating in fleet protection, escorts, and war efforts. Actions align with corporate values, and members may undergo specialized training.

VoIP for Out of Game Use:

• Discord (voice and text) and forums are our primary communication tools. Full members must use VoIP when required, particularly for essential planning sessions.

VoIP for In-Game Regular Use and Roleplay Use:

• Members must use Discord VoIP for in-game coordination. While text remains an option for external interaction, we utilize Discord or in-game proximity VoIP for immersive roleplay.

Piracy Considerations and the “Shady Side of III”:

• III prohibits outright piracy and association with unlawful organizations that permit griefing or unprovoked attacks. However, we may engage in “grey-area” activities like smuggling or asset protection, conducted discreetly outside official channels.

Ship Ownership and Organization Hangar (when implemented):

• Ships remain private property. While sharing via the organization hangar is optional and never pressured, many members generously provide a shared fleet for organizational use.

Leadership Structure:

• III is a stable, drama-free community of friends. While not a democracy, all input is valued. Leadership roles are earned through dedication.

Leadership Team Responsibility:

• The Leadership Team ensures organizational success, adherence to bylaws, and a welcoming, diverse environment.

Disciplinary Process:

• Directors manage member complaints and bylaw violations. They have the authority to make independent decisions, which are subsequently reviewed by the team.
