Spectrum Forum & Chat Member Roles

Forerunner: Group Founders

Noble (Mod): Dedicated Moderator – Can also Kick Members and Set Message of the Day.

Keeper (Mod): Moderator – Can also Manage Roles/Positions (Role Changes or Promotion/Demotion) and Set Message of the Day.

Consol (Mod): Moderator – Can also Manage Forum Channels/Chat Lobbies and set the Message of the Day.

Affiliate: With activated Regular User Permissions. Within reason, these members are allowed to actively promote their own Affiliate Group (One dedicated thread is allowed. Links to that dedicated thread are allowed.)

A special role for all the “active” lurkers that contribute in their own special way!

Rules & Regulations

TL;DR – They basically say, “Treat others the way you’d like to be treated. Don’t post anything you wouldn’t post to social media, don’t harass people, don’t drive new players away from the group or game, keep spam small, and don’t break laws.” (But I mean, come on… the rules really aint that long and not reading these rules is NOT a valid excuse to subvert punishment for breaking them. Let’s be logical, I’m not asking you to do anything irrational; I’m doing just the opposite.) So here’s the DISCLAIMER: JOINING OR PARTICIPATING IN THIS GROUP IN ANY CAPACITY IS EQUIVALENT TO READING AND ACCEPTING THE RULES HEREIN For the most part these aren’t “end-all be-all”, so if you’d like to dispute a rule or an infraction for yourself, others, or the sake of the group be sure to message the (primary founder.)

Game Specific:

Now while you are basically free go about your business, I’d like to reiterate what I mentioned earlier: be respectful to the experiences of other players, this group, and all those in it. This all-encompassing rule extends beyond the Forums and Chats, well into the game itself. Admittedly, that’s a vague statement… so let’s clarify:

• Don’t Harass New Players – This is a no griefing rule. Let people find their feet. Give them a chance to like the game and want to return.

• Actually, Don’t Harass Anyone – Be good to one another. Don’t grief other players. “Making people’s days worse” is not a play style that is promoted here.

• Don’t sexually message, harass, hit on, extort, blackmail, etc., anyone. Don’t sexually message, harass, hit on, extort, blackmail, etc. anyone under the Age of 18 regardless of the age of consent in your country. This includes soliciting sexual images/messages from minors, sending sexual images/messages from minors to anyone else, or sending sexual images/messages to minors; Minors being defined as “anyone under the age of 18”. This rule is absolute.

• This rule is more of a guideline, but please for the love of all that is sanity don’t spend several hundred dollars on ships if you are already living at the limit of your means. I don’t want to see any of you go homeless because you tried to drop $10,000 on pledges to get the F8 Lightning concierge reward ship (and if you’ve got billions of dollars to spend on star citizen, make sure you bring enough for the whole class).

Forum Specific:

Forum specific rules apply to ALL members of the Forum and Community chat, moderator position and otherwise. Forum Specific rules contain all the rules listed above, and the following:

• No Branding or Advertising – You ARE allowed to talk about other groups, but please do not link other groups unsolicited. If you are in a conversation and the opposing party mentions another group and asks for a link that’s fine, but keep it to an extreme minimum. I don’t want this place to become the Warframe chat, where every conversation is a spam of some form of “JOIN THIS GROUP”. Being a member of another group does not mean you are allowed to fill THIS group with advertising for that other one. Ever. However, simply talking about other groups is allowed. Go ahead, compliment “that one” group for the escort service they completed for your cargo run, for example.

• Affiliate Rank Members, your “Normal Posting Permissions” have been enabled on the Rank RSI provided for the Affiliate purpose; you ARE allowed to advertise your group, but only in a dedicated thread YOU have created about your other group. You may advertise and link to that group as you see fit within the confines of your own thread. Manage recruiting, advertise events… but keep it in your thread. Otherwise, outside your thread, the previous listed rule still applies to you. You CAN NOT create group-specific threads if you do not currently have the “Affiliate” rank! If I make an exception for you, I have to make an exception for everybody. Affiliates, there is a subforum dedicated to you solely for this purpose.

• Don’t harass anyone inside the forums or chat. (Swearing is not harassment.) This rule may be vague, so refer to the like-mentioned game specific rules above, and if you’ve got questions or appeals contact the founder.

• No Racist, Sexist, Gore, or Pornographic content. Period. If content might be NSFW (like a news article or something) and you’re not sure if you should post it, ask a Moderator… or don’t post it.

• This is not a political forum. While non-RSI topics are definitely allowed, politics are not. Keep political talk and opinions to a minimum or out of here entirely. This is here to keep the forums from becoming a bed of hot coals, flame, and hate – so be respectful and do not judge others on their political opinion.

• Keep all content contained within it’s own specified section “as much as possible”. That means try to get the topic back on track if you find yourself off track. Accidents happen, people get carried away, I get it.

• Keep spam to a minimum. Spam includes Reddit style “ask Oujia” one letter/word replies to form sentences over many separate posts, but does not include frequently replying to other users.

• Don’t create threads targeting other users or groups, especially in a negative light.

• Don’t share your personal information. Don’t share other people’s personal information. Don’t exchange Emails, phone numbers, addresses, account information, financial information or anything else… with anyone, ever. I will not ask this from you, the CoFounder will not ask this of you, and any member of this group’s staff is not allowed to ask this of you. If you are afraid someone has your personal or account information report it to RSI first, and moderators second (so the offender can be removed from the group immediately; but do not give me or the moderators personal information when you report it.)

• Don’t break any rules that could get you in trouble with the laws of your Country, Province, State, Territory, Prefecture, or City (etc.)

• Don’t break any rules that are otherwise listed at the (Robert Space Industries – Rules and Regulations Webpage linked here.)

(Report Conduct to RSI) – This is here, in an easy-to-reach place for serious offenses should you need it. Serious offenses meaning anything you would normally report to RSI on their official forums.
