Edit, March 12 2020: Corrected Xiphopod article to read "heavyweight" instead of "lightweight." Also put oz in parenthesis and g as the first number. Thanks, @Washburn89

Thanks for the update, Cherie! Nice to see a small info dump about the Xi'an and their government. I seriously can't wait for us to get the ability to read the galactapedia in-game (going to be a great way to pass some of the time of QT)!
Cheers

It'd be great to get more technical info in the wiki and maintained, like components available and their stats, ships and their stats, etc. I'd definitely prefer that instead of, or at least in parallel to, the lore content. Is that planned (there are ship articles at least I know although they're sparse so far).

How about that election going on...
Oh and the ingame clock and calendar now says it is 2951.

I posted articles related to Earth politics last week! https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/galactapedia-update-march-04-2020
the ingame clock and calendar now says it is 2951.
Did you submit a ticket for that? It's definitely 2950 right now!

I'm not sure what is the second date notation system but the use seems inconsistent, i.e.:
After first contact, the Xi’an and Human governments entered into a period of sustained conflict known as the Xi’an-Human Cold War (2530 - 2793; III.863 - III.1053)). Military buildup on both sides resulted in the creation of the Perry Line 2542 (III.872) as a buffer between the two factions. At its height, the Perry Line consisted of eight planetary systems with jump points connecting Xi’an and Human territories. At the end of the Cold War in 2793 (111.1053), the Perry Line systems were demilitarized, divided, and annexed into the United Empire of Earth (UEE) and the Xi’an Empire. The end of the Cold War has brought warmer relations between the Human and Xi’an governments.
For example, if the III in front of the date means the Millenia, it should be (IV.1053) and not (III.1053). In any case, (111.1053) should be (III.1053).

It's the Xi'an date system. Xi'an years and Earth years are different from one another (the Xi'an year is longer than the Earth year), and each civilization uses different timescales.
The Roman numerals in front of the dates are markers for the imperial age! I for the first imperial age, II for the second imperial age, and III for the third imperial age (the current one).
The 111 is a typo, ha.
Edit: the current year (2950) is III.1166, near the beginning of the year. When it becomes 2951, it'll still be III.1166, nearer to the end of the year but not all the way there yet.

Just a quick question, when do you think will be the start for articles based on players actions? Are you waiting until after beta/release or could it also be sooner? For example, the Daymar Rally 2950 could be worth an article. Or is the amount of violence against the racers something you consider not representative of the final PU and only possible/feasible in its current state? Awesome work so far with the Galactapedia and looking forward to the first article based on an in-game event!

Hi @starchivist !
I just wanted to notify you that you made a little typo in the roundup, where you wrote "Linton Messer IX" when it's the 11th and last of the dynasty!
Otherwise, you and your team are doing a great job! Keep it up !

I love the content on the Xi'an! They're already my favorite species. Hopefully we'll get more information on their culture and physical characteristics? I see their life span is different from Humans and also you mentioned the Houses they belong to, it'd be cool to have more information on those. Also, will there be more information about the Human-Xi'an cold war ? Like which systems belonged to Perry Line and the history of those systems during that time? Thanks for the hard work!
