Need Help with Triple Monitor Settings

March 7th 2019 at 6:51 am
Multi-Monitor
So I just added 2 more monitors to my computer so now I have a triple monitor set up. (sooooooo awesome!!!!!)

Here are the specs for those that are interested: 3 Samsung 27 inch monitors (1 flat 2 curved) Aorus 1080TI, i7 7700, 32gb ram, Intel Optane 900p 480gb SSD

Anyways in the Nvida Control Panel I set up the PhysX to "span displays with surround" and configured it. Went into Star Citizen and set the Resolution to 5760x1080. Jumped into AC to try it out and its AMAZING!!!!

But I noticed I can not see the MFDs at all now. (was using a Sabre) I zoomed out as much as the mouse wheel would let me and I set the Field of view to the highest it would go (115). Is there any tricks to zoom out the view more?

Picture 1 - in game screen shot
Picture 2 - picture I took with my camera of the physical screens and my view.
Picture 3 - my game settings

Thanks for any help

OMG somehow I got it to work!!! It was totally by accident but here is the steps I did.

I turned off the "span displays with surround" off.
Configured back to a single display.
Launched SC and set the graphics 1920x1080 so it was playing normal on only 1 screen, then closed the game.
Then I turned the "span displays with surround" back on.
Launched SC and set the graphics to 5760x1080
And thats it. now I have the normal zoom in game! I can see all the MFDs like a normal single screen.
Do not change the FOV or you will have to do this all over again.

Below is a picture of the screen i took with my camera and the current settings I have

Tried it now.

First the FOV on Foot was broken too (Zoomed in like in the Cockpit). I tried to switch between 1920x1080 and 5760x1080 in-game ... doesn't work.

Then i made a USER.cfg in the LIVE Directory with this content:

r_Width = 5760
r_Height = 1080
r_FullscreenWindow = 1

r_BoarderlessWindow = 1

NOW IT WORKS PERFECTLY ... YEAH!!!!! (In Cockpit and on Foot)

Hm... Tried that hoping it will fix the problem, but sadly...
Below screenshots, both captured while in the bed. The FOV setting is at 140 - less is not possible, but i don´t think that´s the problem. The chat is crisp and clear to read w/o any pixeled distortion.

What can I do?

Did you turn off your "span displays with surround" too?

Just looked in my User.cfg. I only have the following in there now:

r_Width = 5760
r_Height = 1080
r_FullscreenWindow = 1

OK ... with 3.5 i will try this out.

The Triple Screen Setup is messed up since 3.0. Before 3.0 Triple-Screen-FOV was perfect.

TRACKIR is the solution for me. Works very well in PU. But I can forget racing with the current FOV.

Welcome to the triple monitor club. You won’t go back I guarantee. I have the same setup. Congratulation!

From what I've researched, you lose some FOV on the top and bottom when you go wider than 16:9, which appears to be exactly the case here. On ultrawides this isn't an issue apparently, but on triple monitor setups, you need more FOV than what is offered in the settings.

Short story is: It's unsupported until CIG gets around to it, just like VR. You can use it, but the game won't be optimized for it.

I know this thread is old but with 3.18 out (kinda) and performance improved, I'm going to retry playing with triple monitors (7680x1440 / 3s Samsung G7 27")

Fingers crossed it goes well

Im still trying to get it to work correctly. Everything on the sides is stretched, and all my markers are HUGE.

Nothing really you can do there.

Markers are something CIG has commented, they're still based on Flash and will be converted into Building blocks later, which should help.

Better support for really wide setups (e.g. multiple displays etc) is something I haven't heard CIG talk about.

For anyone using an amd card go to the gaming tap in the adrenalin software click star citizen. At this point under the display tab find and click enable "Launch with AMD eyefinity"

No changes, you'll still get fish eyeing etc, though at least inventory works better and I'm not getting those full display height undersuits anymore.

Probably not the most important priority for CIG and I can understand that. Would be nice to hear something from them though. Now it just feels that this part of community has been forgotten completely.
