Youtube channel and website for my simpit project

So I finally decided to make a Youtube channel and a website for my simpit project. Nothing super special yet, something like a light version of The Warthog Project, but in space. But it's interesting to see what I'll eventually be able to come up after I spend few years with this. First video is just a quick overview.

On a side note, it's quite painful to create content on a language that's not your native language.

Decided to try out a new way to make button panels:

Design the panel in Fusion 360 and print it with white PLA (instead of black that I've used)
Careful finishing (sanding, several layers of paint)
Laser engraved marking
Add lighting etc

I have to say that I like the results a lot. And made a video of the process.

Latest addition to my cockpit: working ejection seat handle. A fun little project that should be quite easy for anyone with an access to a 3D printer. So I also uploaded the STL files to Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5401038

Very cool! Reminds me of The Warthog Project which I've also considered copying lol. After completing my own simpit I've been wanting to make another dedicated SC cockpit with a projector setup like his and a full surround ship console.

You're right, Warthog Project has been a heavy inspiration. Hopefully I can some day build also a 270 degree screen setup.

Trying my hand at making gameplay videos. Would love to hear comments and feedback about how to fit the triple screen setup into normal aspect ratios.

nice pit. Is there a reason you didn’t include head tracking into your setup? I feel like even with the large field of view I’d still want my head tracking. I can’t play without it anymore it just creates a connection To the game that nothing else does

Thanks! There is actually Tobii 5, it wasn't just working in the first videos.

Eventually I hope to have so wide screen (270 degrees) that I don't need a head tracker, but with this current setup, it's nice.

You MAY want to overlap your screens a bit. I have three 32" screens, with the edges of the side displays slid behind the center one, so there is only one bezel-width to look at, rather than two, side by side. I have them positioned so the inside of the right/left displays exactly line up with the outside of the center screen's bezel. Give it a try?

Sounds interesting. I'm not going to touch the positioning since I have them in place and the setup is a bit too flimsy. But could be interesting to try once I manage to fabricate a new monitor stand.

Thanks. I have plans to make some more detailed videos in the future of various aspects. And naturally all the upgrades I’m planning.
