It's October and there's a delightful shiver in the air all throughout the 'verse... Over the course of the month, we're reveling in fear and terror both inside the game and out, and we're inviting you foolish mortals to join in the fun.
In the 'verse, you can don the grim visage of serial killer Neville Lott, assuming of course, that you can reach the spooky hideout he's chosen this year. Or, blur the line between cute and creepy by popping on one of our delirious Dark Bear helmets. Those who want to strike fear into their fellow citizens on approach might want to give their Drake ships a terrifying tint via their Ghoulish Green paints, now available on even more ships in the Drake line-up, and to be released in Star Citizen Alpha 3.15.
Here in the mortal realm, you can either carve your way to fabulous prizes or show off your raw speed and steel nerves in two exciting Halloween-themed contests that will keep your pulse racing.

Day of the Vara is celebrated in the UEE annually on October 27. The holiday involves public festivals with decorations in black and green and private gatherings to remember and honor the dead. Celebrants dress up as people who have passed away and swap scary stories about mysterious incidents in space. It is seen by Humans as a day that gives equal weight to the joy of life and the macabre.
Learn more about Day of the Vara over on Galactapedia and take a deeper dive into the Vara itself, the origins of the holiday, and the celebrations and traditions we see in the ‘verse today.
