April brings a slight deviation from our regularly scheduled flair lineup, several Ships of the Month, a Jump-Point-look at prisons and armor, discounted physical merchandise, and more.
April’s Ship of the Month is the ever-popular Avenger series. From the cargo-hauling Titan to the bounty-hunting Stalker and electronic-warfare-specialized Warlock, the Avenger series has been a hallmark of the Star Citizen universe since it was introduced. If you’ve never flown one, or already have one and want to see what the other variants are all about, now’s your chance.
Jump Point’s April issue provides a detailed look at the development of the Klescher Rehabilitation Facility and our first discussion of the prison escape mechanic. Also this month is a lore feature introducing the most notorious vigilante gang serving their own brand of justice throughout the Pyro System. Who are the Overlords and what are their motives? You’ll get your second glimpse in this month’s Jump Point.
Second? That’s because before this month’s issue arrives, Subscribers will find reproductions of the helmets worn by six key figures in the Overlords gang as this month’s Subscriber In-Game Rewards. But that’s not all. We know how challenging it can be to complete an ensemble that’s just right. So, next month will be the biggest month yet for Subscribers, when they’ll receive everything else they need to complete a full set of Overlord armor in May.
With that, let’s learn more about what’s in store.
IN-GAME REWARDS (FLAIR)
Remain fully protected and anonymous without feeling a great weight on your head. The Overlord helmet delivers heavy protection while a special lightweight composite plating makes it feel like nothing’s there. Repurposed ocular sensors normally found on ships keep you attuned to your surroundings and, when worn with the full Overlord suit, the high neck collar provides extra head support and protection.
Overlord Helmets "Forces of Nature" Pack - The Forces of Nature pack focuses on the two Overlord gang members best known for their intimidating strong-arm skill set. It includes the brown Dust Storm and green Predator helmets.
Current Centurion-level subscribers get the Forces of Nature pack above as part of their subscription.
Overlord Helmets "Silent Strike" Pack - The Silent Strike pack celebrates the colorful Overlord scoundrels that attack without warning. It comes with the teal Riptide and yellow Stinger helmets.
Current Imperator-level subscribers get both the Forces of Nature and Silent Strike packs as part of their subscription.
Overlord Helmets "Double Trouble" Pack - Pyro outlaws consider it double trouble when the Overlords members Supernova and Switchback show up together. The Double Trouble pack includes the red Supernova and blue Switchback helmets.
The Double Trouble pack is only available to all Subscribers through the Subscriber-Exclusive Store.
SPECIAL NOTE: The Overlord Helmets are included and will be accessible by players in the upcoming Alpha 3.9 patch.
If you aren’t a Subscriber and would like to receive the Forces of Nature or Silent Strike Packs as part of a subscription, you can SUBSCRIBE by April 13th.
Additionally, if you subscribe after April 13th, you can pick up these and previous month’s flair (going back to 2014) by checking out the Subscriber Exclusive store. You can fill in any gaps as well as pick up extras to gift to non-subscribers.
SHIP OF THE MONTH
Initially designed as a frontline carrier for the military, the Avenger Stalker took a different path, ultimately having a long and storied career as the standard patrol craft of the UEE Advocacy. Utilizing its cargo hold for prisoner transport, the Avenger features a sturdy, reliable hull and the capacity for larger-than-expected engine mounts.
The Avenger Titan, Stalker, and Warlock are currently available to all Subscribers and will be until May 1st, 2020.
When the ship goes live, Imperator-level subscribers will gain access to the upcoming Esperia Prowler as part of the Imperator Test Flight program – the perk that provides one week to test fly all new flight-ready ships and variants in our live releases.
Named after the UPE military designation, the Prowler is a modernized version of the infamous Tevarin dropship. Esperia’s astroengineers were given unmitigated access to study original versions of the ship recently discovered in the Kabal system to help meticulously reconstruct the vehicle. Now, the Prowler is the perfect fusion of two cultures: the elegance and effectiveness of the Tevarin war machine combined with the reliability of modern Human technology.
After that, as mentioned earlier, the month of May will see Centurions receive the remaining components to complete one set of Overlord Armor and Imperators the pieces to complete two. We wanted to provide Subs with an exclusive armor without anyone having to wait too long to collect the pieces. We’re excited to not only deliver a big-ticket in-game reward like these, but also have it serve as a look ahead to vigilante life in the Pyro System. Don’t forget to check out this month’s Jump Point to learn even more!
