History

History

Established between a trio of former UEE Marines, Borealis began its work supplying military operations as a civilian contractor. Transporting ammunition, equipment and other necessities to conflict areas where the ordinary chain of supply wasn’t enough. Given the contacts that the former servicemen had established prior to their private venture, more supply missions soon followed.

In the last few years Borealis has continued to run supply and trade in high-conflict areas and for any legit customer, which has prompted a need for a highly dedicated armed force to protect its ships and crew. Therefore Borealis also supplies its own fighter wing and Drop Troop Platoon to provide both the organization and customers security.

Training

Borealis members bring years of real life experience in military operations and training to the holo table when conducting training courses. This combined with extensible experience in training; air combat maneuvering, squad tactics, large scale strategies.

Each of our employees will have to partake in both basic training before being allowed to partake in real combat or protection situations.

Borealis instructors are chosen for their experience, professionalism and passion for giving away their hard earned knowledge. Our instructors understand the line between life and death and the importance of training in controlling said line. Over many years of actual experience we have developed a training methodology that has proven itself in real tactical environments.

Manifesto

Intentions:
  • Wealth creation is our main intention, as without it we are powerless.
    • Good income for all employees, with ample possibilities for a bigger share of the cake. Personal shares are in decreasing order, calculated from, time input, material input, role and rank in Borealis.
  • Organisational asset creation is a secondary intention
    • Command/Capital ships for the main purpose of organizing increasing size of fleets and ground deployments. Secondarily for heavy hitting capabilities in extreme cases.
    • Territory with the main purpose of delivering a steady stream of resources for the organisation. Secondarily for HQ or FOB purposes.
    • Ground vehicles and drop ships for the delivery of of ground troops to AOs on the ground.
  • Influence is a secondary intention
    • Major factions influence, in order to get better missions, leaks and other favors from the leaders of our galaxy.
    • Organisational influence, as they may become our direct competition, personal contacts, espionage and other subterfuge will be important for future operations.
Motives:
  • We do what we do for the creation of wealth, technology, information and security for all.
Views:
  • True to our roots, all employees voices are heard and accounted for in all decision making. Although being militarized for the purposes of self defense a complete Social democratic process is too inefficient for Borealis current size.
  • In a hostile universe our motives on violence will become blurred, but as a main rule we only fire upon direct threats to personnel or assets.
    • Vanduul will at all times be seen as a threat and be fired upon or in case of insurmountable odds, assets must be abandoned for the safety of personnel of it is deemed necessary by the operational executor.
  • The Triumvirate
    • In order to avoid bad decision making, planning or corruption a Triumvirate will be voted in place by the members of Borealis. Elections will not be a annual process but rather after a cry of no confidence should one be held. Votes should then be cast with emphasis on competency, organisational activity and seniority. Popularity votes should be avoided!

Missions statement:
Acquisition of monetary, political and physical gains for all employees. This will happen through high risk operations, for example; hostile takeovers from criminal factions, xeno cleanup operations, production of raw materials in high risk areas, transfer of raw materials through high risk areas, salvage and research of xeno technologies. Recruitment:
In order to become an employee applicants must have a minimum age of 18 years and must also undergo an informal interview.
Employees of Borealis will under normal circumstances never be subject to membership fees, competency requirement or tryouts.

Breaches of the code of conduct may result in a lecture on proper conduct, enforced training, reparations, temporary ban or in the worst of cases a permanent dis-employment.

Governance:
Borealis will be governed by three active employees known as the Triumvirate. The three triumvirs should be of differing mindsets with different goals and ambitions in order for the Triumvirate to work optimally. Any large decision, defined as affecting any employee in any way, must be voted on by all three triumvirs.

Military triumvir:
  • Responsibilities include large scale security planning…
  • Can at own discretion, appoint another employee to temporarily, for a maximum of 30 days, take over the position.
Political triumvir:
  • Responsibilities include keeping ties with other factions both friends and enemies…
  • Can at own discretion, appoint another employee to temporarily, for a maximum of 30 days, take over the position.
Judicial triumvir:
  • Responsibilities include solving internal disputes, payroll calculations…
  • Can at own discretion, appoint another employee to temporarily, for a maximum of 30 days, take over the position.

Reasons for vote of no confidence include:
- Failure to fulfill responsibilities
- Failure to fulfill responsibilities in a reasonable amount of time
- Inactivity, barring reasonable excuses in short periods of time.
