History

Information on the verses most eccentrically extravagant spaceline

Company Overview

Many saw the 20th century as a ‘Golden Age’ for transportation. From early Atlantic steamship crossings, to mid century aeronautics and the later opening up of the globe to easy travel. There was glitz, glamour and a sense of stylish adventure, where the journey was just as valued as the destination. And Darkstar Panstellar has been founded to drag some of that ‘Golden Age’ kicking and screaming into the realm of space travel.

We operate a range of Scheduled and Charter passenger services, alongside an exclusive cargo delivery service. Our aim being to get anyone or anything, anywhere it needs to go, in style.

-

Scheduled

Our scheduled services operate between a wide variety of popular and interesting destinations. The majority of our cliantelle enjoy extended cruises taking in several exciting destinations, planet side excursions, as well as any interesting detours which may present themselves along the way. However for those who require expedited travel arrangements, more direct port to port ferry services are available on core routes.

Alongside our regular tours we operate one off events to celebrate notable occasions, or just when we feel like hosting a good old fasioned shindig. Highlights include our Murry Cup parties, Son et lumière nebula soirees, and of course the ever popular murder mystery extravaganzas.

-

Chartered

We offer a range of chartered yacht services, all of which can be tailored to suit your specific requrements. We will cater for any eventuality, but the majority of requests tend towards one of three catagories;

Executive travel, transporting clientelle to a destination and back in our usual stylish manner.

Private cruises, whereby we are booked for a period of time and go where you want, or use our extensive knowlege to take you to locations that best suit your requirements.

Private events, if you are looking for corporate events hosting, neutral diplomatic space, or to throw a party that will be the envy of your friends for years to come, there is no better venue.

Onboard Services

A moving space is what we provide first and foremost. Recreational areas that can be adapted to suit any needs and bedrooms for when it all gets too much. Our attendants are always on hand to assist you in any way they can, need to send a message, another cushion, or simply need the stars repositioned in the observation window so they dont warm your gin & tonic, then let them know.

Out in the depths of space our catering rivals that of the best landbased restraunts in the universe. This is because of our onboard chefs who have trained in those very same locations, and translated their skills to the confines of our ships. They provide exemplery menues for cruises, cater for large parties, and given enough prep time can source any ingrediant for requested on charter services.

Each ship is fully stocked with high end drinks, both alcoholic and non, and if we don’t have what you want we will try our darndest to source it. We have highly trained bar staff who are experts, not only in making drinks and what to eat with them, but also the history and production methods behind what they are serving. It is this exacting attention to detail within our work that keeps our regular clients returning time and time again.

Entertainment is provided by both in house and outsourced professionals. In house, our ships amenities provide a wealth of media, games and other distractions, our staff can organise a whole host of other activeties from poker and kareoke to skills classes and games tournaments. We also provide talks on phenomena we see, and tours of the destinations we visit. Other entertainment includes live music from bands to dj’s, lectures on interesting and topical subjects, specialist supervised activities, cabaret and much much more.

Popular Routes and Destinations

microTech, New Babbage (NBIS) – ArcCorp, Area 18 (Riker Memorial) – Hurston, Loreville (Tesa). Ferry.

Currently our most popular route. It might have something to do with the loss of our jump point charts in a recent party. Once this hangover subsides normal service shall resume.

Sol, Earth, New York – Ellis, Green, Aydo – Stanton, ArcCorp, Area 18 – Terra, Prime. Ferry.

Our luxury ferry service, serving the big four planets of the core systems. Contingency can been made should other destinations along this route be more convenient for any of our passengers.

Manifesto

The bit to tell the customer how we think and what to expect

If you wish to travel in stylish extravigance, or to the most riddiculous location, then Darkstar Panstellar are for you.

Our motto aliquando huc means anywhere anytime and that is reflected in our primary objective to deliver passengers and cargo to where ever is required, in a reasonable timeframe.

We strongly believe that time spent enroute to a destination is just as important as the destination its self. Combining the partying decadence of early 20th century steam ships, jet set attitude of mid century aviation, and the freedom of late century travel; we aim to provide an atmosphere of fun loving adventure, in a comfortable environment.

With this in mind; whilst we are obviously obliged to get you to your destination, we are not afraid to detour if we spot something noteworthy along the way.

In the spirit of having a good time, we endeavour to act upon all reasonable requests to enhance the passenger experience. We are obligated to remind you that, whilst we strive to meet any and all expectations, as with all ships the Captain’s word is law. So if you are being an arse about what you want, expect to be put down in as sassy a manner as possible.

Finally (until we think of something else to say) on the subject of our motto, we really do mean it. If you want to take an 890 Jump to shop at Grim Hex, or watch an epic space dog fight in a nebula whilst sipping champagne and listening to smooth jazz, well, that sounds like fun to us. And of course, for more ‘delicate’ requests, more rough and ready craft are availiable.

Vision

To transport anyone or anything, anywhere, in absolute style. With a sidebar in adventure.

We aim to throw high end parties, visit the most beautiful vistas in the ‘verse, and take luxury ships to places they really shouldn’t go! Recognising that this may be an Org cripplingly expensive persuit, slightly less risky passenger, vip and cargo missions will also be flown, to fund our more hair brained activities. We also hire our services out to orther Orgs and Citizens in need of a neutral meeting space, a luxury ship they dont have, or just a third party to move someone or thing from A to B.

We suspect our shennanigans will cause many self induced explosions, but anticipate that over time we will become proficient enough at not dying to be trusted to take people to hard to access locales, in complete luxury.

We welcome allcomers, whether you want to drop in and out for a light hearted break from more serious Star Citizen activities, or if this we suit your prefered playstyle, take a more active role in our eccentric extravagant endeavour.

Ship Structure

This section provides an overview of the many roles required for the smooth operation of a pan galactic luxury cruise vessel, and the chain of command used to carry them out. The scaled down nature of space yachts mean that all crew members are trained to be knowledgeable and interchangeable in many roles, allowing for efficiency and versatility with a relatively small crew.

Personnel onboard all ships can be broadly split into three ranked categories, these are; Officers, who lead and manage roles onboard. Crew, who carry out tasks and roles required for the operation of the ship. Passengers, the reason the ship is going anywhere in the first place.

-

Officers

Captain: The ships ultimate authority, in overall command and responsible for everyone and everything on the ship. They look after the big picture of whats going on. In the event of there being more than one Captain on a ship, or more than one ship in the formation, then one Captain shall be designated overall Commander

First Officer: A designated second in command, assists the Captain, providing a sounding board for ideas and excecuting the Captains plans. They take charge on watch when the Captain is otherwise engaged, such as when ashore or on a rest break. On larger vessels the FO is best utilised running the day to day operations and crew roster, allowing the Captain to focus on the big picture.

Purser: Acts as the ships quatermaster/accountant, manages the cabin crew members and service hospitality.

Chef: Often thought of as the most important person on the ship. The Chef works under and in coordination with the Purser and is in charge of catering.

Chief Engineer: In charge of maintainance upkeep and other mechanical roles.

Head of Security: In charge of security, and security personel on the ship. The security role is generally covered by all crew members onboard, as such this position is only really required when operating parties with large numbers of passengers.

-

Crew

Crew get split into two categories each covering a number of essential roles; Deck Crew who operate the ship, and Cabin Crew, the stewards/stewardesses who look after the passengers.

Deck Crew Roles

Flight Crew: Roles on the bridge to move the ship, lead by or under the command of the Captain or their officer on watch. Helm, pilots the ship. Navigator, works out where the ship is and how best to get it where it is needed. Comms, comunicates to other ships, port controllers, and the crew via interphones and the public adress system. Ops, usualy an engineer analyses the ships systems.
Engineering: Monitor, maintain and repair the ships structure, systems and fittings, also operate the ship mechanisms used in every day flight. Expertise in this role can be sub divided down into structural, propultion, mechanical and electrical knowlege.

Cabin Crew Roles

Passenger Services: Such as bar tending, table waiting, room service, entertainment, cheff work, cleaning.
Medical Work: first aid, wellbeing, massage.

-

Security: The role of providing the ships safety and security is the responsibility of all crew. However assigning crew to the specific role of security is needed when hosting events for a large number of passengers. The role includes; keeping order on the ship to prevent disruption, guarding entrances to deny unauthorised access, operation of defensive weaponry and mechanisms.
