Welcome to Gridlock

We are a group of mature 18+ gamers from SEA region who play together for fun and to achieve our own goals. While we believe that combat is a necessary part of Star Citizen, our members are free to play how they want. We are always happy to provide backup to other members.

History

Gridlock was created before the Arena Commander release by a West Australian as a place for Aussies, Kiwis, and SEAsians to get together and help each other out.

We believe that a strong combat confident pilot will get further in the ‘verse than one that must always rely on help. Saying this, we are happy to fly as wingmen for our fellow members when needed.

We are happy to answer any questions sent to us, but we also have an open thread on the official organisation forums, feel free to drop in HERE

Our organisation’s and member’s achievements will be listed here once these are able to be earned.

Manifesto

Overview of Gridlock

Gridlock is a place for any player, from casual to hardcore, to gather. No matter how our members choose to have fun in this game, we just help each other to achieve that fun.

We believe that all pilots should be trained for fighting (or escaping) should the need arise, and we make good use of Arena Commander to this effect. Even if you are a trader, having combat experience and know when/how to fight or run could mean the difference between life or death, or loss of income.

We help each other out as we can, some people may feel best offering combat or flight experience, letting others know the best trade runs, while others may feel best over clocking or tweaking parts for others.

We are not against people from other countries or regions joining the organisation, but we would prefer that your playtime be during the GMT+8 to +12 timezone peak periods. This is preferred because we do not wish to have a large number of players, and if people play at roughly the same times there should always be members to play with.

Endeavours

There will be many different types of endeavours that Gridlock will participate in. We will mainly focus on combat roles, but sometimes our members may want to do something else, or maybe combat just isn’t for them. If our members are in need of an escort for a trade mission, or some backup for the bounty they are chasing, there should be others that are willing to help.

Charter

Basic Rules

  1. We will maintain a mature atmosphere at all times, while swearing and adult themes will not be discouraged, there is a time and a place for everything and berating and insulting of other players will not be tolerated.
  2. There will be no combat between Gridlock members (excluding within Arena Commander) in the verse. There is no excuse to fight a team mate.
  3. If participating in piracy, understand that members may not come to your rescue as they may wish to maintain their UEE standing. Organise backup prior to your operation!
  4. The only Affiliates of Gridlock will be ambassadors of other organisations that we wish to coordinate with. Affiliates cannot be promoted past Experienced Pilot.
  5. Make sure you have fun!

Organisational Rankings

Now a brief layout of our rankings. There is no real direct line of leadership, but the higher your rank, the more say you have in the organisation. The individuals in the counsel, decide on the purchases and allocation of organisation funds, but do not dictate how our members will act, outside of the general rules in this charter. Any major rework to Gridlock’s system will require a vote by all members.

We have decided on this system because we believe that our members have a right to enjoy the universe of Star Citizen how they seem fit. If you would like to go do something and need a hand, just ask and someone should be able to join you. If the organisation was to do a specific high bounty hunt, or a dangerous trade run, then we will see how many members wish to be involved and, given enough members are interested, give it a go. The counsel members only run the organisation from an administrative standpoint, they will not be sending out orders to other members that they must abide by.

Recruit:- These are the probation members, this is purely to weed out any players who do not fit in. Members will sit on this rank for about a week and be discussed and voted into the rank of Pilot by the counsel, under advisement from other members. This is also where members will be placed if they have committed violent acts against another member of Gridlock, if they do not straighten up, or repeat their offence, they will be removed from the organisation.

Pilot:- This rank is where the majority of our members will sit. Once they are off probation and voted in by the counsel they cannot be removed from the organisation without another vote. This will hopefully prevent abuses of power and removing members without justification.

Experienced Pilot:- Once a pilot has been with us for a while and has proven their worth, plus is well liked all around, they will be promoted to this rank. These are the people that will be happy to help others out, and will be sufficiently experience to offer at least combat experience, if not other talents as well. This is also the maximum rank that an affiliate can reach, as they cannot be assigned any roles within the organisation.

Officer:- These are the members that will start having power within the organisation. They will have access to the admin portion of the organisation, and will have one or more of the admin roles attached to them. They are the group of players that we trust to be leaders in the organisation and to help the counsel run the organisation on a more granular level. They do not get to vote on players or monetary expenses, but as with other members, their opinions will be taken under advisement. If an officer abuses their power, they will be reprimanded and dropped to the rank of recruit and must work their way up again. If they continue to be a negative experience to the other members, they will be removed.

Counsel Member:- These members, along with the Counsel Leader, run the organisation on a daily basis. They will allocate how funds are managed (if/when members get paid for actions, when to offer insurance money or replacement items, which organisation ships to purchase), vote on member inclusions/expulsions/promotions, and with the help of the officers, run the organisation on a day to day basis. Counsel members are under the same expectations as officers, if they abuse their power they will be dealt with in the same fashion and an Officer will be promoted to the counsel.

Counsel Leader:- As the name implies, this member leads the counsel in its decision making. Apart from that, this member has the same power as the rest of the counsel and no action should be taken without a counsel vote. There will always be an odd number of members in the counsel, including the leader, this is to eliminate any stalemates that may arise in the decision making process.

Our aim is to be a tight knit group of players, while we may not be the biggest group around, we will be the ones helping each other out.
