History

The Hephaestus Syndicate was founded in the early 22nd century in the Stanton System by a group of brilliant engineers and miners who shared a common goal: to establish closed mining and trade routes which were efficient and secure for the syndicate and the syndicate alone. They wanted to exploit the vast mineral resources of the galaxy and establish a monopoly on the interstellar trade in rare minerals. Inspired by the Greek god of artisans (Hephaestus), the syndicate quickly established itself as a leader in the following skilled trades: Mining, Engineering, Transport and Trading.

In the early years, the Hephaestus Syndicate focused on developing their skills with new technologies to improve the yield of their operations. However soon enough it was brutally brought to their attention, that their operations did not go unnoticed. Private militant groups, government bodies and most commonly pirates began to attack and intervene, hindering their trade routes and mining operations.

The Syndicate started to dwindle in numbers, from death in service or members abandoning their positions after being targeted for piracy. Realising that they could no longer run such high stake operations without attracting bad company, they turned to local security contractors for protection. This turned the tables drastically. Within just a few short operations based outside of Yela, the Syndicate realised with their new security personnel they could stay on their mining claims far longer than before without the risk.

At this point the Syndicate passed the Bill “Table Turner”. This was a proposed Syndicate Law that meant any Operation whether it be Mining, Engineering, Transport or Trading would be escorted by an Internal security member know as a Table Turner (TT for short). That security member or team would receive a direct 25% cut of what ever operation they were protecting. This news soon spread within militant and security communities far and wide. The Hephaestus Syndicate became bombarded with some of the best security and militant personnel throughout the galaxy all asking if the 25% cut was real? They soon had a fierce security force which wouldn’t think twice about bending laws of the system they were in to protect the Syndicates interests.

The Leaders soon realised that the security force was the Syndicates destiny. As while Hephaestus was the God of Artisans… He was also the God of Fire. If the syndicate was crossed, their foes were burnt and annihilated. It was never intended for the Syndicate to become this way but they simply adapted to the verse they lived in. The syndicate’s leaders believed that Aggressive Defence tactics was the only way to maintain their control over their assets. The syndicate’s private security forces became increasingly brutal, and they were even rumoured to be responsible for numerous acts of violence, including murder, torture, and even kidnapping.

Manifesto

We, the members of the Hephaestus Syndicate, are dedicated to the smooth running of our Mining and Resource Transport operations across the verse. We believe that the key to our future lies within the security and safety of our assets and operations. This will help us harness the vast resources of the galaxy and to expand our reach beyond the stars.

We are committed to developing new and more efficient mining techniques that will allow us to extract the valuable resources of the galaxy in a sustainable manner. We are also committed to developing new trading routes that will make it easier and safer for us to transport goods throughout the stars.

We believe that the Hephaestus Syndicate has a unique opportunity to thrive within the economy, and we are committed to using our strength and knowledge to discourage any other organisations from interfering with our operations. By any means necessary.

Charter

Article I

The Hephaestus Syndicate is a 15/25/60 profit organisation. This means while working on a operation or project under the Hephaestus Syndicate 15% of your profit goes to the Syndicate itself. Another 25% goes to the Security personnel escorting/overseeing the project/operation. The remaining 60% is yours to keep.

Article II

The purpose of the Syndicate is to promote secure and more efficient mining and trading techniques, to expand the Syndicate’s operations throughout the galaxy, and to become one the leading providers of rare minerals and gems in the galaxy.

Article III

The Syndicate’s members are committed to using their equipment for the Syndicate as of when needed while under contract of an operation or project. These are made clear with plenty of notice. Syndicate members choose what contracts they sign to allow a more flexible approach.

Article IV

The Syndicate’s members agree to abide by the following principles:

Innovation: To be committed to developing new and innovative mining and trading operations.
Efficiency: To believe in using our resources efficiently and sustainably.
Excellence: To strive to achieve excellence in everything we do.
Integrity: To not bother other miners or traders as long as they don’t bother us.
Respect: To respect the members of the Syndicate and anyone of our customers.

Article V

The Syndicate’s members agree to be bound by the decisions of the Syndicate’s leadership.

Article VI

The Syndicate’s charter can be reviewed by a two-thirds majority vote of the Syndicate’s members. At least 10 Members needed in Vote

Article VII

The Syndicate does not force it’s members to abide System laws. However while on Operations/Projects only Tier 1 Crime stats are allowed.

Article VIII

This charter is effective immediately upon its adoption. Terms and conditions state that this Charter can be Altered or redacted at anytime. (Members will be notified once a change has been made).
