Occult was fun a bit until 20th century. An excuse to gather in a gloomy halls wearing fancy robes and weird jewelry, while chanting in enochian or latin, and get completely drunk afterwards. That is how Order of Hermes was.

Now armed with a more knowledge of how Verse works, armed with extremely sophisticated tools group of open-minded scientists got a hint about something really interesting out there, some obscure knowledge, some really fun stuff which can dramatically change your known picture of existence, or just drive the scientists mad… Thing is such hunt for hidden knowledge are costly thing and requires heavy funding. So scientists armed themselves with antimatter red crowbars, hopped into their armed-to-the-teeth ships and ready to provide Security and Exploration services for a crunchy credits, while looking for…. things.
