The year was 2005 when Bobby Henderson first wrote of the Flying Spaghetti Monster and presented the argument that global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters are a direct effect of the shrinking numbers of pirates since the 1800s. What Bobby didn’t know was that Edward Stint would take that argument and, in the year 2801, begin a series of rigorous scientific tests.

While experimenting on Henderson’s hypothesis, Stint discovers that the universe is a simulation and that there is an underlying variable of chaos in the universe with a minimum threshold. So long as pirates fill this requirement for chaos in a given region, the universe experiences relative calm. But without the pirates, space experiences a similar turmoil as recognized by Henderson on Terra.

It was because of this discovery that Stint started the Al Dente faith in 2805, to spread the knowledge he had gained; the universe is a simulation configured by the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and the chaos that surrounds the activities of pirates is for some reason an integral part woven into the tapestry of our reality.
