Osprey Tactical Logistics – Calling all serving or ex-forces. Do you want to make a difference? Sick of seeing pirates disrupt the lines to the front? Then join up today for a multitude of jobs ranging from Transport to Combat. Make a difference now and remember, Never a boring day as an Osprey!

History

The OTLINC was founded in the year 2941 in a joint venture between John Hunter (CEO OL) and Douglais Quaid (CEO TDi). Both have had extensive military careers where they served within the UEE on both official and ‘black’ operations.

Starting off as a small company, Osprey Logistics (OL) specialised in the protected transport of valuable kit and equipment. This mostly ranged at first as fleet and ground support equipment for small military contractors on private ventures along the fringe. It was during this time on one such transport that OL were given the opportunity to show their worth. While conducting an armament resupply to a forward colony base, the main complex communication link went dark. Upon final approach OL pilots then observed that the base had sustained heavy fire to the exterior of the complex. After several more attempts to hail the base’s control matrix the crew decided to land and investigate. They had expected a stern welcome from the PMC group, Tactical Defence inc (TDi), who were tasked with the protection of the colony. However the OL crew were instead faced with a shattered landing pad strewn with Vanduul corpses leading to the conclusion of a Vanduul assault.
It transpired that although the TDi were able to hold off the Vanduul vanguard from the main civilian residential block, they had lost the base’s communications array and automated defence systems before being beaten back to the main supply depot. With help from the remaining TDi marines and the supplies they brought, the OL crew were able to bolster the TDi lines but as they prepared to leave the Vanduul returned. Before withdrawing in to the depot the OL crew fired an emergency communications buoy in to space in order to raise the alarm. The subsequent battle lasted 9 hours before a UEE strike force arrived to destroy the Vanduul light carrier group in orbit and thus cut off their reinforcements to the ground.

Amazingly the entire OL crew had survived together with a handful of TDi marines. After the first wave of the Vanduul strike, the small team of OL and TDi had been forced back to the central corridor which gave access to the residential area. It was here that the OL crew and the remaining Marines managed to funnel the Vanduul in to a killing area creating an impassible wall of defensive fire and Vanduul bodies. It was due to these heroic actions that all 4,235 colonists were able to survive the assault and the colony project was able to continue saving billions of Corporation credits. Due to the huge loss of man power within the TDi and with a newly formed comradeship between them and the OL, three weeks later both companies announced the formal merger of OL and TDi to from the Osprey Tactical Operations (OTLinc). From this the mandate expanded to more than just a protected transport company and started to branch out in to the PMC world.

Now hiring ex-military personnel they have increased the size of the company and scope of operations greatly. Whilst protected transport remains the main sale and advertising to the galaxy they are well known by and relied on for a more… discreet and covert military operations at the right price.

Col. John Hunter (CEO)

Born and raised on Terra, Johnathon Daniel Hunter was brought up in a military family. After graduating through college he joined up to the UEE as a UNSC Marine. Noted by his superiors for having a “high understanding of combat doctrine and also not adhering to a single expletive rule of it” he quickly became known for being a wild card and unpredictable in battle. Pilots noticed that when facing off the enemy, be it pirates or Vanduul, he would hunt them down till every single ship was nothing but floating wreckage. This lead to him being given the callsign of ‘Hunter’.

He served for twelve years on numerous battle carrier groups maxing out as wing commander and CAG before leading to the events that would result in his discharge from the UNSC. While conducting heavy flight ops hunting RECORD DELETED within sector RECORD DELETED a Vanduul carrier group he RECORD DELETED leading to being discharged.

After the UEE John Hunter decided to start a small corporation relying on ex pilots and marines and specialising in the protected transport of goods and equipment for the front lines and on the far fringes of space. He has a complete distrust for anyone who isn’t ex military and hasn’t “proven there worth on the line”.

John Hunter is the current CEO of OTLINC. An experienced pilot and ground commander never to be underestimated, good enough with an assault rifle, but just watch out if he is in a tank or fighter.

“How can a man die better than facing fearful odds, for the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his Gods” Inscription on Col. Hunter’s SABRE

Col. Douglas Quaid (Exexcutive, Security and Military Operations)

Born on Earth in to a poor family in a rough neighbourhood. Douglas Quaid scrapped through standard schooling so he joined the UEE Navy as early as possible. During the early stages of his military training it became clear that what he lacked in academics he made up in combat ability. While having ‘above average’ piloting skills his real talents lay in shoulder mounted weapon systems and hand to hand combat. After only two years service he went for selection and advanced to the UEE’s Special Forces. Once completing his training Doug partook in several major operations against UEE terrorists on both Earth and Mars.

It was during the counter-terrorist and espionage operations on Mars that Doug earned his call sign ‘Howzer’. He received his alias during a tasking to infiltrate the ranks of a corrupt Marshan Governor’s personal militia. The Governor was suspected of monopolising on Marshan mining companies through hostile take over and suspicious terrorist attacks which conveniently crippled infrastructure and defences. In the closing stages of the operation, ‘Howzer’ was able to decimate the militias command structure through high profile executions and assassinations. Finally he dealt with the source of the problem i.e. blasting the Governor out of an air lock.

After a poorly planned op went south on Earth, in which Doug’s entire team had been wiped out, he retired form the UEE Special Forces and set out on his own venture. In 2934, with the support of his Ex UEE servicemen allies they formed the PMC organisation, Tactical Defence inc (TDi). Within the first 4 years the company grew rapidly, partly due to TDis catchy tag line “it’s turbo time” referring to a 20th century robust and reliable engine design. TDi deployed in defensive operations along the fringe protecting newly constructed colony projects.

Douglas ‘Howzer’ Quaid now commands the ‘muscle’ operations within OTLINC. Quaid is a robust and solid ground commander and foot pounder, don’t underestimate him in a dog fight either.

“Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardship and decide not to surrender, that is strength” Douglas Quaid, 2141, post Vanduul colony assault.

Charter

Code of Conduct:

1) At all times behave in an honorable and dignified manner. Be the better marine but at the same time if they try to gun you down, deal with them in such a fashion that they will never go near a member of OTLINC again.

2) If in such an event the OTLINC needs to rally it’s members for a large task, then be prepared to assist. This can range from tactical insertions and retrieval from behind enemy lines to assaults on an installation or ships. We are a PMC so don’t just expect protection details.

3) Aid each other in the Corps, work as a team when needed and we may just get through the day alive.

4) If an unknown pilot is in need of aid then, dependent on the job, do your best to assist them, be it with combat or medical attention. You never know, you might be looking at a new member for the Corps.

5) Piracy is a crime, at no point do we expect any member to be involved in the profiteering from active piracy, our job is to protect cargo (be it equipment or people) from piracy, not encourage it.
*CLAUSE** If the transport ship/convoy happens to be pirate in nature then under this circumstance you are cleared to go weapons free due to the likelihood that the contents are not acquired legally.

6) If at any time it is discovered that a pilot has brought the name of company in to disrepute then administrative action may take place including and up to dishonorable discharge and possible contract for death/execution.

7) If at any time it is discovered that a pilot has conducted deliberate espionage on the OTLINC for another organization and/or personal gain then this will result in immediate dishonorable discharge, bounty, and hunted down by OTLINC task forces.
