Foundation

Citizen Valkyrih founded Peace of Mind Ltd. in the year 2931, having little more than his Citizenship, a small office in the suburbs of Prime and his trusty Aurora, this not being enough to start a business Valkyrih contacted Edmund Vance whom he had “contacts” with previously, knowing him to have necessary money and pilot training. While business was hard in the beginning, they were quickly able to turn a profit. The growing profit allowed them, after a few years to hire a number of pilots to bolster his growing corporation.

While business blossomed and the corporation grew, the company soon moved the corporate headquarters to some of the prestigious business areas in Prime and started establishing offices on different star systems. While this major boost for the company the demand for more military hardware fuelled the necessity for establishing an office on MacArthur homeport of the UEE armed forces.

Corporate Governance

Pace of Mind is according to its charter governed by a board of directors, elected on an annual general meeting of all shareholders. However since all assets of the company are owned by the current board these meeting are nothing but legal formalities, an excuse to show of the corporations military might and a reason to spend corporate money on a party.

All commissioned military personal are both Citizens of the UEE and have served a minimum term of military service. Peace of Mind does also employ a number of contracted employees whom are not required to be Citizens; they fill such roles as engineers, mechanics, accountants etc. The company’s commissioned personal are ranked on structure based directly on the UEE armed forces with highest rank being captain.

The corporation is head by the Chairman of the Board with the CE doing the day-to-day running of the civilian side. However, founder of Peace of Mind Citizen Valkyrih currently holds both these offices.

Corporate size and ambitions

Peace of Mind are in the large scale of things neither a highly influential corporations nor are it to simply to be dismissed as unimportant. The corporation consist of a formidable force of fighters such as the RSI Aurora LN, Origin 325A and Hornet from Anvil and others. It also includes a number of long-range patrol crafts such as the RSI Constellation. As these ships are all crewed by Citizens with military background, Peace of Mind have built up a reputation as corporation of great experience and expertise. This also allows the corporation to give their pilots a large degree of liberty, allowing them to freelancing when they are not on the job, as long this are conducted within the rules of the company.

In recent years, the company have seen a growth spurt fuelled by primarily four things. First and foremost are the ever-increasing trade with the Banu Protectorate, this in its natural course of things have led to an increases of piracy and where there are pirates there are military escorts. Secondly, trade with the Xi’An Empire opening a completely new market for contracts from both humans and Xi’An. Thirdly are the Vanduul, the merciless raids by the Vanduul were always a liquidise market for private military companies as any trade ship on edges of the empire would need protection, but with the growing number of raids this market is only growing. Fourthly are military contracts, while this is a market where Peace of Mind have normally been able to gain much ground this have changed in the recent year with more, and more contracts to protect outer colonies have signed.
