Solar Expeditionary Corps [SXC] - Organizations

History

The Solar Expeditionary Corps is a privately operated and owned Armed Exploration and Trade organization. Originally founded as an Earth Defense Militia, the SXC has in recent years expanded into a respectable trading and exploration organization. The cause for the transformation was simple, there is no longer an immediate threat to Earth or the Sol system, so the organization needed to broaden its scope, and start turning a profit. While still maintaining a “militia” mindset, the SXC has vastly expanded it’s fleet capabilities, going from a few short range fighters, to larger dedicated exploration vessels. Many of the fighters still remain in service, but the addition of some longer ranged escort ships has brought new potential to the SXC. The fleet overhaul has vastly improved the range and trade potential of the organization.

At the founding of the SXC, the UEE provided a number of older fighters and converted civilian ships for a premium price. The SXC also had a few private funders that played a key role in the start up of the organization. As the threat to Earth diminished, so did the private SXC funding. In response to the loss of income, the SXC began offering armed escort services to traders traveling to nearby systems. After having much needed success in this market, it did not take long for the SXC to purchase it’s own trading vessels, and begin flying escorts for their own trading missions. This proved to be much more efficient and turned a much higher profit. The SXC has used this increased income to fund what is slowly becoming the main mission of the SXC, Exploration.

Now, with a stable base of operations, and no longer restricted to operating only within the Sol system, the SXC is currently searching for a new system to call home. Regulation and tariffs from the Earth based market has greatly hampered the expansion of the SXC. Although the people on Earth have been it’s primary market in the past, the SXC feels that regulations on trade have forced the SXC to expand it’s scope, and seek new systems to operate in, and potentially call home.

Manifesto

The Solar Expeditionary Corps is a privately operated and owned Armed Exploration and Trade organization. The SXC operates as both an organization intent on exploration, and an armed transport Corps.The SXC believes in being safe rather than sorry, therefore all of our actions, whether they be mapping out a new star system, or fulfilling a valuable trade contract, we will have guns….lots of guns.

There is safety in numbers, and therefore we will travel as a “fleet” or “squadron” when fulfilling contracts or exploring. We want to grow, not only through monetary gains, but also through experience and size. We want our current crew members to learn and eventually become captains of their own ships, which in turn will allow the organization to grow and profit.

We believe in quality over quantity, and therefore will promote our members based on experience, skill, and effort. We want to be fair to everyone, yet also reward those who stand out. Organizational responsibilities will increase when promoted.

Lastly, we are not an organization that will have thousands of members, and do not spam recruitment invitations. Applicants should understand this, we simply want a solid group of active members to participate and enjoy our little slice of the universe with us!

Charter

We just want to have fun and play Star Citizen in a structured way. The only “rules” are that we ask that you use common sense and don’t act like a moron, be friendly to other members, and always listen to Senior Officers.

You are free to join other organizations, however if the SXC is not your primary organization, you will not be a eligible for promotion past the rank of Private.

Members are asked to be relatively active if accepted. Feel free to play away from the organization, but please be committed to joining the SXC for missions and organizational tasks regularly. Attendance will be a big factor in promotions.

Lastly, JUST HAVE FUN! Although we want to be organized, we do also want to enjoy this game! We are not a dictator style organization, and members thoughts and feedback will have a very big impact on what direction the organization progresses, and the activities we pursue. This will be a great game, and we hope to make the experience better through the SXC!
