History
Founded in the Sol system, on Earth, in 2012, The Stratosphere Lounge has thrived over the last 930+ years. The first fearless leader of The Stratosphere Lounge was a dashing pilot known today only by his call sign, Skid. In his honor, every leader of The Stratosphere Lounge has assumed the same call sign.
In 2025, Skid piloted the first interplanetary flight of the new VASIMR II engine, designed to transport humans to Mars in under 30 days. He and his team successfully reached Mars in 21 days. These tests laid the groundwork 50 years later for the first self-sustaining quantum drive engine, capable of achieving 1/100th the speed of light. For the first time, humanity could explore the solar system with unprecedented speed.
Skid also started an underground movement called The Common Sense Resistance, designed to expose government indoctrination and oppression. The Resistance consisted of clandestine cells tirelessly promoting the concepts of personal responsibility and self-reliance. Isolated individuals spread their message through short, encrypted broadcasts sent over hijacked government frequencies. The group has grown from its tenuous infancy, and persists to this day as a covert branch of The Stratosphere Lounge.
Manifesto
The mission of The Stratosphere Lounge is to showcase the pride and professionalism of the human race by inspiring a culture of excellence and service to humanity through rugged individualism and exploration. Our mandate is to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before.
We are comprised of steely-eyed missile men and bombshell babes dedicated to the ideals of personal responsibility and rugged individualism. We believe in loud guns, fast ships, and hot women. We share an insatiable desire for adventure, for pushing boundaries, for surviving on our own wits and resolve. We welcome those who feel the same.
Charter
We only have a few Do’s and Don’ts in our organization. The short version: don’t be a jerk.
Don’t:
-Attack other Stratoloungers.
-Tell other people what to do.
-Go overboard with profanity.
-Make graphic sexual comments.
-Threaten others with real world sexual or physical assault.
Do:
-Talk smack.
-Go where you want.
-Do what you want (excepting the above “Don’ts”)
-Help each other out.
-Be an ambassador for our brand of freedom and professionalism.
