“Lookin’ sharp, ace.”

History

….Hey Captain, have a look at this. The Advocacy updated my case file. Thing looks like swiss cheese. Guess they couldn’t even spell my real name right. Finally got around to adding those Stanton mercs to my rap sheet. “Peace-keepers.” What a load of [REDACTED]. HAHA!

ADVOCACY DESIGNATION NUMBER: 4Q96-02783

SUBJECT NAME: [REDACTED]

KNOWN ALIASES: Hannibal Rackham; Ghostwork

HISTORY:

The Advocacy’s first official interest in Mr. Rackham’s criminal activity occurred after his ship, the Beerdead Lady, was impounded while docked in the Stanton System. The local port authorities had been alerted to secure the vessel after receiving a tip [REDACTED] that Rackham may have been involved in illegal arms trafficking. [REDACTED] upon conducting an investigation into his ship’s data logs, authorities discovered detailed financial data related to the SynthWorld, including accounts providing evidence of [REDACTED] at almost every level of the project, audio evidence of [REDACTED], [REDACTED], [REDACTED], and [REDACTED].

Any agent of the Advocacy needing information detailing [REDACTED] this data must submit Form AC-2215 to his Division Supervisor and provide adequate proof that information regarding [REDACTED] is necessary in at least one active investigation to which that Agent is currently assigned.

After a twelve-day manhunt, Mr. Rackham was apprehended by local port authorities, and detained until Advocacy personnel were able to take him into custody at their request. After a short trial, Mr. Rackham was convicted on one count of industrial espionage, two counts of murder of an officer of the Empire, four counts of murder of state-appointed peace-keepers, ten counts of attempted murder of an officer of the Empire, two counts of vehicular manslaughter, six counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against an officer of the Empire, three counts of public endangerment, eight counts of negligent driving, four counts of destruction of property, two counts of resisting arrest, attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction, attempted suicide, twenty counts of intent to distribute military grade small arms without a license, and impersonating [REDACTED]. He was sentenced to life imprisonment at Quarter Deck Prison, where over half his record was logged in rotating solitary confinement facilities beneath the planet’s surface.

SUBJECT LOCATION: Unknown

After escaping Quarter Deck Prison, 4Q96-02783 (Mr. Hannibal Rackham) is currently operating at large, and is considered heavily armed and extremely dangerous. His last-known employment was as a hand on board rogue star craft the Jeopardy, last known to be captained by [REDACTED]. Mr. Rackham’s rank and station on board the Jeopardy is also unknown, but as Mr. Rackham has been the owner and captain of his own craft in the past, and is a skilled pilot and very capable combatant on foot, he is likely an officer.

There is no official story on his relationship to [REDACTED] or any other suspected member of the Jeopardy’s crew. The ship employs an unknown number of hands and officers.

The location of the Jeopardy is at this time unknown, though sightings have been reported in multiple systems over the past 22 months as her captain and crew continues to conduct crimes of piracy across UEE space.

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT:

Agents who have handled 4Q96-02783 in the past have provided statements of [REDACTED] over the way the subject’s [REDACTED]. Each of these agents [REDACTED]. New ROE for 4Q96-02783 is to kill on sight. Do not attempt to apprehend. Execute with extreme prejudice.

Manifesto

We are the crew of the Jeopardy. There is no other name for us. The men of our Company will carry the name of our ship with us everywhere we go. We intend to ensure that name commands dread and respect throughout the galaxy. Through the actions of the Company, the Jeopardy will become a whole character of its own. The Jeopardy will evolve, the Company ever-changing. The jobs will be short and the rewards will be sweet. To sign the articles will be an honor. To sign the articles again would be our honor. When they see the Jeopardy on their scope, they will think twice about putting up a fight.

Statement of Intent:

As the name of the ship implies, the Jeopardy will engage in a number of high risk – high reward endeavors. Though we will terrorize the void with our actions and our reputation will precede us, we are not terrorists. Our mission is not wanton death and destruction. Our goal is profit through force of will. If a ship can be taken without loss of life, it shall be. If cargo can be appropriated without needless destruction, it shall be. We are not hired thugs and murderers. We simply take from the table that which is presented. Whether our bounty is handed to us on a platter, or we have to make a mess of our meal, the ends always justify the means.

Going on the Account:

When the Captain of the Jeopardy decides upon a job, a Company will be selected. Each man of the Company will sign the Articles of the ship, and go on the Account. The Company will consist of only enough men to carry out the job, and will be bound to the Jeopardy only for as long as the job takes – usually not longer than one week. After that time, the Company will be released. Read the Articles carefully and if you believe they are fair, then you could be in the next ship’s Company. If you do not believe they are fair, do not pursue going on the Account. The Articles will be followed to the letter.

What We Are Looking For:

Every job is different. The information is different, the ship is different, the human element is different. These variables will determine the composition of the Company. Depending on the factors the Jeopardy is presented, we may seek capable men for the following:

1. Boarding and Seizure
2. Fighter Escort
3. Internal Ship Security
4. Ship’s Weapons
5. Intelligence Gathering
6. Negotiation
7. Prisoner Transport
8. Boarding Team Transport
9. Cargo Extraction
10. Ship’s Maintenance

As the Jeopardy moves forward with its activities, the Quartermaster will construct a pool of potential candidates, noting each man’s strengths and weaknesses. The Jeopardy will eventually grow a vast network of highly effective members of the underground community who may be called upon as hires on future jobs.

Of course, the ultimate goal of this organization is to have a lot of fun. We want to make participating in our activities a fun and profitable experience for everyone, each and every time they go on the Account. The few permanent crewmembers aboard the Jeopardy who have been gaming together for a very long time feel that this model of hiring on temporary mates will keep it light and fun, and significantly reduce the internal drama and attrition that inevitably rears up in the typical rank and file of permanent membership guilds.
