History
Timeline of the story of the Vikings in Space and the Yggdrasil:
- Approx. 4500 BC: The alien creatures known as the Æsir built the Yggdrasil as an Ark for their people.
- Approx. 4000 BC: The Æsir is chased away from their home planet by another alien race called the Jötunn and flies through space in multiple different arks much alike the Yggdrasil.
- 562 AD: After being chased by the Jötunn for almost 5000 years the Yggdrasil is the only remaining ark and the Æsir has grown desperate as their population continues to decline and because of their loses to the Jötunn. In the search for a warrior species to serve them in their survival and whose biology is easier to clone than their own, they find planet Earth. During an expedition to collect resources they discover some tribes of warriors that suits the Æsir’s plans. A large portion of these Vikings and their families was captured and brainwashed into believing the Æsir to be Gods.
- 1542 AD: Using the culture and DNA of the Vikings, the Æsir genetically alter and clone the Vikings in so significant numbers that they finally turn the tide of the war with the Jötunn, whom had also been weakened by the prolonged war between them. Ragnarok is the name of the final battle between the Æsir and the Jötunn, which ultimately left the Vikings as the only survivors although the Viking loses were even greater the both the Æsir and the Jötunn combined.
- 1607 AD: After a dark period in the history of the Vikings now known as the Decades of Unrest in the Yggdrasil, the first High King was appointment by the Sentient Being called Odin after the Battle of Midgard, where the cloning facility unfortunately is destroyed. After this period the population slowly restored the Vikings started to thrive in their new homes using the skills they learned from the Æsir.
- 2841 AD: During an exploration expedition, a vessel nicknamed “Heimdall” encounters fellow humans in a unclaimed system nearby the UEE. This events sends shockwaves into Vikings society as the knowledge of their heritage from Earth had been removed by the Æsir after the Vikings kidnapping. Most Vikings does however reject the idea of the Æsir being anything else than gods and the culture ends up not changing much from this event, but trading and privateering with the UEE commences shortly after although the UEE hides the discovery of the Yggdrasil from their empire in exchange for advanced Æsir technology.

Manifesto
Welcome to our Manifesto!
So you’re interested about the Vikings In Space and wants to learn more…
We’re a casual group of players that sometimes roleplay and generally are in it for the lulz.
So please read the following segment with a grain of salt as it is mostly just jibberish. Thank you.
Agenda
Throughout the history Vikings have been an inspiration for a mix of stories ranging from the demons of the north to the silly drunken barbarians. We try to reflect that as to be a mixture of both and try to have fun while doing so. As Vikings we are very war-driven as we all desire to arrive to the Halls of Valhalla to fight forever in its glorious hallways. We are always up for a fight and will go to extreme lenghts to achieve our goals. The only way to be free of our brawling is to be our employer…
Diplomacy
Because we are a very war-driven and fierce organization we tend to have a hostile approach to others, but only until you’ve proven your worthyness of Valhalla.
A Casual Approach
As being a casual group of friends we also incorporate a lot of different views and goals, so while some of us fight for fun others perhaps are more interested in the commercial or exploration focus of the game. We’re sort of a Jack-Of-All-Trades and do all kind of things.
