This Week in Star Citizen
April 27th, 2020

Happy Monday, everyone!

Star Citizen Alpha 3.9 PTU is now open to wave 2 testers! It’s only been a few days, but we’re already seeing exciting new community content on the Hub, from videos of Esperia Prowlers racing over Euterpe to the most-fancy burrito shots. Check out the Citizen Spotlight for all the latest media.

If you missed last week’s AMA, jump over to Spectrum to find answers to your most burning questions about the Quantum system. Introduced at CitizenCon last year, it will give our devs direct control over the in-game economy, breathing life into the Star Citizen universe.

Now, let’s see what’s going on this week:

On Tuesday, the Narrative Team will publish the fourth part of the serialized-fiction series Instrument of Surrender.

ISC this Thursday talks about the life of a bug, how you make a difference, and explores the future of in-game comms calls.

On Friday, you’ll see a Roadmap update and Roundup, an update to the Subscriber Vault, and the RSI Newsletter delivered to your inbox. We’ll also welcome a new episode of Star Citizen Live, which will broadcast on our Star Citizen Twitch channel. This week’s guests, Lead VFX Technical Artist Oliver Cullen and VFX Technical Artist Jacob Matthes, will be leading us into the foggy world of Gas Cloud Tech. The show will start at 9am PST / 4pm GMT.

And now, please hand me my Caldera Novikov helmet. There’s a snowball fight I have to win just outside New Babbage.

Weekly Wisdom: Spectrum knows your Friends

With the upcoming release of Alpha 3.9 to the live servers, three separate friends lists (Spectrum, in-game friends, platform/website) will be transferred into one unified list. This will make it way easier to keep in touch with your friends when moving from one place to another. So, now is the perfect time to update your friends list and add all your friends or favorite org comrades.

If you’re already in Spectrum, click on the friends icon in the upper-right corner, then on the cogwheel. From there, select Manage Friends. Or simply use the direct link”. Click the +Add Friend button and enter your friend’s name. It doesn’t matter if you use their community monicker or handle. As soon as your friend pops up, send a friend request by clicking the button on the right.

As soon as your friend accepts your request, you’ll not only be friends on Spectrum, but will be connected in Star Citizen on the live servers.

Community MVP: APRIL 27th, 2020

We're constantly amazed by the contributions made by the Star Citizen community. Whether it's fan art, a cinematic, YouTube guide, or even a 3D print of your favorite ship, we love it all! Every week, we select one piece of content submitted to the Community Hub and highlight it here. The highlighted content creator will be awarded an MVP badge on Spectrum and be immortalized in our MVP section of the Hub.

Don’t forget to submit your content to our Community Hub for a chance at seeing it here!

These striking images really show off the art achievable with the support of photo mode. Thanks to tribalgraph, who shares his 4K portraits collection from 3.9.
