This Week in Star Citizen
July 13th, 2020

Happy Monday, everyone!

We’re currently putting the finishing touches to Alpha 3.10 and working out the final kinks keeping us from opening it up to a wider audience with PTU Wave 1. We appreciate everyone’s patience while our teams work towards making the Alpha 3.10 experience the best it can be.

Foundation Festival is in full effect throughout the ‘verse and we’re encouraging citizens everywhere to help each other up their games. Whether you’re looking to finesse your flying, need help taking your first steps, or want to share your mining expertise, our updated Guide System offers something for everyone. And while you make the ‘verse a more welcoming place, we’ll make it worthwhile and reward you with exclusive Spectrum badges and a shiny new Anvil Arrow skin.

Furthermore, we’re looking for the coolest crews in the ‘verse in our Foundation Festival screenshot contest. We’ve already seen some incredible images and will be accepting submissions until August 2nd!

Also last week, we’ve released our latest infographic that showcases the most popular clothing and armor items in the ‘verse and where to find them. It’s definitely a good inspiration for your next shopping trip!

Now, let’s see what’s going on this week:

On Tuesday, the Narrative Team will treat us to a former Subscriber-exclusive Portfolio piece on ubiquitous equipment manufacturer Greycat Industrial.

Inside Star Citizen is still on its three-week hiatus, so no new episode this week. The show will return on the 23rd of July with the latest Star Citizen news.

On Friday you’ll see a Roadmap update and Roundup, an update to the Subscriber Vault, and the RSI Newsletter delivered to your inbox. We’ll also welcome a new episode of Star Citizen Live, which will broadcast on our Star Citizen Twitch channel at 12pm Pacific / 7pm UTC. This time, we are joined by lead concept artist Jeremiah Lee for a gamedev showcase.

Have a great week!

Weekly Wisdom: Quantum Linking

If you want to travel large distances as a party, use Quantum Linking! This allows the leader of a party to initiate quantum travel and any nearby party members to jump alongside them.

As the leader: Simply follow the same procedure as for a solo jump. When lining up your ship you’ll see additional information. The names and circles indicate who is in the party and who is ready to jump. Once the circles next to each party member fill up, they’re ready to engage. When everyone is ready, jump and the party will follow.

As a party member: When your nearby party leader initiates a quantum jump, you will see the normal quantum jump UI appear. Align with the target destination and spool up your engines. When the party leader jumps, you’ll automatically join them.

Community MVP: July 13th, 2020

We're constantly amazed at the contributions made by the Star Citizen community. Whether it's fan art, a cinematic, YouTube guide, or even a 3D print of your favorite ship, we love it all! Every week, we select one piece of content submitted to the Community Hub and highlight it here. The highlighted content creator will be awarded an MVP badge on Spectrum and be immortalized in our MVP section of the Hub. Don’t forget to submit your content to our Community Hub for the chance to see it here!
