This Week in Star Citizen
May 25th, 2020

Happy Monday everyone!

Invictus Launch Week is in full swing, and amidst all the festivities, we are aware that not everyone can enjoy the event as planned. While great progress has been made, our team continues to work hard on crushing and solving any remaining issues that prevent you from playing right now. As a reminder, we recently released the Status Update page to help keep you in the know with how things are going.

We know some of you have missed out on playing so far, so we’ve extended the Free Fly until June 2nd and we’ll continue to monitor and make adjustments as needed. We’re committed to keeping you all in the loop and will be in close communication. Keep an eye on Spectrum for further updates.

We’ve already seen an incredible amount of community-created content and we encourage you to dive in and check out the Community Hub! Personally speaking, there aren’t a lot of things I love more than spaceships, and watching the UEE Navy arriving seriously brings a smile to my face. Thanks to you, we already have a ton of great videos showing off the fleet, and we’re still hungry for more.

Has exploring those screenshots and clips woke your inner artist? We got you covered as we kicked off not one, but two community contests last week. Whether you want to create a recruitment poster that will delight and inspire future UEE soldiers, or pull off your most stunning flight maneuvers, there’s something for everyone.

Looking for more inspiration? Then follow our Invictus Launch Week Guide and marvel at the most iconic war machines at the Bevic Convention Center!

Now, let’s see what’s going on this week:

The UEE Navy will be in town all week! Don’t miss your chance to try out military inspired ships & vehicles from different manufacturers. Check out the Invictus Launch Week schedule to find out what vehicles will be available each day.

On Tuesday, the Narrative Team will publish the first part of a new Serialized Fiction called The Lost Squad.

On Thursday, we welcome the latest episode of Inside Star Citizen, our weekly look behind the scenes of Star Citizen development.

On Friday, you’ll see a Roadmap update and Roundup, an update to the Subscriber Vault, and the RSI Newsletter delivered to your inbox. We’ll also welcome a new episode of Calling All Devs to our YouTube Channel with more info about highly anticipated salvage mechanics.

Enjoy Invictus Launch Week and we’ll see you in the Bevic Convention Center!

Oh, and just one last question before I head back to the event myself: Who do you think builds the better military ships? Anvil or Aegis? Comment below!

Weekly Wisdom: Where is the Navy?

Despite its size, the UEE Navy fleet can be hard to find in the expanse of the ‘verse. It shuttles between the space stations: Port Tressler above microTech, Everus Harbor above Hurston, and Baijini Point above ArcCorp. Look out for fireworks, or check out your Star Map on your mobiGlass and follow the fleet’s Quantum Beacon.

Community MVP: MAY 25th, 2020

We're constantly amazed by the contributions made by the Star Citizen community. Whether it's fan art, a cinematic, YouTube guide, or even a 3D print of your favorite ship, we love it all! Every week, we select one piece of content submitted to the Community Hub and highlight it here. The highlighted content creator will be awarded an MVP badge on Spectrum and be immortalized in our MVP section of the Hub.

Don’t forget to submit your content to our Community Hub for a chance at seeing it here!

Star Citizen Machinima trailer

What happens when you crossbreed an arty machinima clip with an action-fuelled Star Citizen trailer? _NotGemini_ shows us, and thus claims the title MVP of the week. I am still speechless!
